Well, my cards all went out on Saturday, one day after the end of September.
I hope they all arrive at their destinations.

Today (I haven't checked my PO Box mail for the week) I received two great cards, "Someone To Watch Over Me" from BW Girl, and "White Trash" from Matt.
Great work. Thanks.

My cards went out a couple of days ago. Sorry I'm late, September seems to have flown by. This week I received BWGirl's and Bob's cards and today I had 3, "Our baby" and "the dish" from Kevin and Nige along with Matt's "White Trash". I'm amazed that Matt's card reached me as it had a big purple stamp on the back saying "Missent to Philippines"!! Not sure how it got there as the address is clearly United Kingdom. Despite its world tour it's in perfect condition.

Had a bit of luck last weekend -- managed to pick up a box of Ilford postcard paper in Jessops in Hereford. It was in their sale section, reduced to GBP 8.99 (just over half the old price). Probably been lying around for a couple of years but it should be OK. It was glossy, I prefer pearl but beggars can't be choosers. I've now got 3 1/2 boxes left.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying these postcard exchanges. Thanks everyone.

Mike

As we are coming up to the next round signup (doesn't time fly!?)... If anyone on the group list has not received one of these (below) PM me and I will send a spare. I can't believe the world's post offices have delivered TWO rounds of my postcards without at least one card vanishing in to thin air!

Cheers, Bob.

I got it Bob. Noah, I'll send you a msg from home tonight.

Actually, I think we're way done on the number of cards in this round. I haven't checked but I'm pretty sure I've only recieved 8 or 9 out of the 17 odd expected.

Can everyone (who can be bothered) email me a list of your cards (card sec and author). I'd like to know if these things really do get lost as badly as they seem to recently. If you haven't sent your cards out, email me that too so I can see the big picture!

cheers, Nige

I will do a count but I think I've received fewer than 11. Alas, I believe that it's not so much a case of cards getting lost in the mail as some people not sticking to their commitment. Even 11 out of 17 still means that a lot of people don't bother.

This is the second round I have participated in. The first was round 2, I believe. In round 2 I received 9 postcards, which was at best 50%. This round I received 11, a much better rate.

And yes, in case any of you are going through your cards to see which one I sent, um... mine are not out yet. More accurately, not printed. I'm am making Albumen postcards. September came and went with negatives enlarged, paper coated with albumen, and the conviction that the beautiful September weather would continue. Unfortunately, October weekends were uniformly wet and cloudy, so no printing was possible.

I'm hoping for a sunny weekend or two so that I can get these postcards printed and out, so I hope that everyone will get at least 12 of 17 for this round.

Maybe a friendly reminder would be appropriate for those who have not sent out their cards? I see that David and Jon have responded that they are still working on it. What about the other five?

I've got 11 as well. If anyone hasn't received mine yet then let me know.

Cheers

Mike

Round 4 and round 5 are drying, so one batch will be a little late, and the next will be ready to go as soon as the address list is out.

Couple of days for the participant list (addresses) to be sent...

I'm, looking forward to seeing Jon's print... that sounds very interesting indeed!

BTW, all the "early printers might" need to dig thru for some old excess cards as we've had a few additions this round (over the ones dropping out).

Nige.

haven't counted exactly (and it's at home) but I'm pretty sure we've got more newbies than ones that have dropped out. Probably 22... I'll confirm tonight and post in the rnd 5 thread (for Kate too)

Are we in Round 5? I'm so confused...

Hey - I just got a card from New Jersey, but can't remember if I signed up for Round 5. Do we have some super-late round 4 going on? Or is this a new round?

Now off to the darkroom for round 5!

Just got my postcard from David. What a cool building! It's the type of place that only running out of film could make me leave. Does anybody have any knowledge about postcard sizes? 5x6-ish ok? Is cot 320 too flimsy without backing?

Todd, 4x6 is the perscribed size to obtain discounted rates if they exist. We have had bigger ones (5x7) that have got through, or you can always pay the full rate to dazzle us with your art

And yes Dougie, your in!
