Looking good ataim! You're on my list, so I guess that means one of these will be winging its way to me someday soon. Can't wait for a 'proper' look!

I'm hoping to finish printing mine this weekend and then post early next week.

Seems the winner is Piu58 (OK, it's cheating, we live on the same continent!) with a very nice view of trade hall #17! The bicycle brings a lot to the image, IMHO.

Excited to start seeing these. I'll be printing up this weekend! My post office was out of international letter stamps, so my Canadian friends will have to wait. Actually-- anyone know if it's OK to put the requisite $$$ of regular postage on an international letter and send it as such?

I've got Piu's card as well-even better than last round's effort with a real sense of atmosphere and middle greys well used to convey it.

Most U.S. post offices have vending machines which will print incredibly ugly stamps on demand, in any denomination.

What's the fun in that, though?

Just went ahead and ordered a book online... hopefully they'll get here soon! Time to mail off postcards to other international friends, too!

Fretlessdavis:

To answer your question, yes you can use any "denominated postage" (stamps with a given value) on international letters/postcards. The only stamps you cannot use for international postage is any of the domestic "Forever" stamps. It is for that reason the US Postal Service created the "Global Forever" stamp.

Hope this helps

Darwin

OK cool, thanks, drpsilver! My Global Forever stamps still aren't here yet, so I guess I'll just pile on the .33 and .1 stamps I have!

My postcards will be in the mail tomorrow! Since I only signed up for 10 for my first time, everyone's getting something unique. =)

Hi Laurent,

There is much here in New Mexico that can be puzzling, even to a long-time resident. The Santuario and surroundings is locally a very holy place to many with, for example, a pilgrimage each Good Friday by many who walk typically 10 - 30 miles or more on that day.

Yesterday I found a very fine card from rince in my letterbox: An old shack in Mecklenburg, a sparsely populated region in the northeast of Germany. Especially I like the toning, great!

Thank you! It was actually my first try ever in toning. So I guess it was beginners luck.

Just got my copy of rince's, too. Really love the toning. Which Tetenal toner is it, if you don't mind me asking?

It is called Tetenal Sepia Toner. It is an indirect toner (bleach+redevelop) the package is for 2.5l of mixed solution.
I am pretty amazed, I toned two fibre prints and they came out amazing. It might not be the cheapest toner, but for a rookie like me it worked perfectly.

I would call it far from a rookie print! The Dmax you pulled out of RC is what I've been striving for. Unfortunately, all but one of my prints in this exchange was done on ancient, likely partly heat-fogged MGIV paper that needed to be used up (edge fogging, so they worked as postcards).

I have started working with glossy for the deeper blacks, but the warmth and depth you got in that print is fantastic, and something I've been striving for.

Mine went in the post today. First time for me and can't remember a time when I printed 10 on the trot.

One other question on toning (if you don't mind)

Can't seem to find the info on the Tetenal toners, is the one you used a traditional Sepia toner (sodium sulphide)?

I've been thinking about picking up one of the Legacy Pro Kodak style toner kits, as they're incredibly cheap and simple in comparison to the variable sulfide/polysulfide sepia toners... I've seen results all over the place for the Kodak ones (everything from yucky to subtle and beautiful). I'm assuming since the shadows still have awesome depth you only partially bleached it out, instead of fully?

The look you got with it is much better than anything I've been able to come up with on Kentmere with Selenium.

t is a little hidden on the Tetenal homepage, but if you open this PDF http://www.tetenal.com/opener1.htm?file=imaging_shop/images/00000734.pdf it will be under toners and is called sulfite toner. It is for sure not one of the new odorless toners ....
Actually all cards were bleached completely (were in the bleach for about 3 minutes until I could see no more reduction in tone for 1 minute). All cards were printed with higher contrast than I would usually do, to makeup for a loss of contrast. Other than that, I just followed the instructions of the toning kit. I feel that the paper is really having a large impact on how the toned prints turned out.
