Postcard Exchange Round 26 sign-in

Welcome to the APUG Postcard exchange. First a some news.

After 15 rounds Ruediger (RST) has passed the baton (Mailing list) on to me. I think we all owe a big round of thanks to Ruediger for his fantastic service all these years. I only hope I can match his zeal.

Thanks Ruediger.

OK, back to business, here is the schedule for this round:

May: sign-on
June and July: print and mail
August: breather

OK, now the standard text, but please read on:

As in the previous rounds, please signup by sending a PM to me containing your name, address (including the country - this is an international exchange) and the number of cards you are able to send or say maximum for the maximum possible number of cards.

As in the previous rounds, if you have been in the exchange for the last couple rounds and if your address is the same, you can sign on just with giving the number of cards here in the thread. No PM needed in this case.

Important! As in the previous rounds I will post lists of participants in this thread every once in a while. If you signed in (or if you think so) please come back to this thread and check if your name is on the list. If the name should be on the list but is not, then let me know. Once the address lists are sent out early in June I can not do any changes. And also check for the number of cards behind your name.

Please read on:

As in the previous rounds, not all participants have been able to send out the cards. For whatever reasons, if you have not fulfilled your last rounds commitment, send your cards before you sign in for this round. Just be fair.

And as in the previous rounds, I am looking forward to this round.

Now for those new to the postcard exchange, here is how it all works out.

First: It is fun!

Second: When registration is over, I will prepare address lists which I will PM to the participants. You will have to send a card to every address on that list and you should receive back a card from everyone on that list. So if you join in for e.g. 20 cards you will have to send 20 cards and you should receive 20 cards back.

Third: Did I mention that it is fun? Where else can you receive cards from all over the world, different styles, different methods, different papers!

Be nice
George

George:

Thanks for taking up the reins!

I would suggest that those who are interested in doing this for the first time ought to look through the "Sticky" threads in the Postcard Exchange forum. One caution though - the addresses for Sean and Kodak are out of date.

And I too wish to thank Ruediger for all his efforts.

Thank you George for taking on! And thanks Ruediger for all your efforts with the past exchanges!

I think I'd like to sign up again for 25. Name, address and timezone are all the same as before.

I'm in for 25 again!! YAYYYYYY!!!!!

Thanks George, for taking this on. And thanks to Rudiger for doing it all these years!

I'm in again, obviously, just can't resist!

A big thanks to Rüdiger for having organised this for so long, and a big thanks to George for continuing the good work.

Having said that, I'm in for 25 again, same address as before.

Thanks for taking on the role George.

I will not sign up until I get round 25 cards out. Still have 29 days....

I'm up for the usual 30 image packets. Some are even drying on the line in the darkroom as I type.

Hats of to George for taking this on. I seem to recall there is a postie background in him somewhere, or was it he was a telephone guy? Pending senior memory loss moments occur all of the time now. This middle ager can see his future...

RST - well, whats not to say. A big thanks for all of his work for so long. And all the best with his reported heavy work load and health challenges.

Also, remember Randy. He was the coordinator when I first started this self made postcard addiction, around R10. His life got busy, and the baton was passed. Now George has picked it up. May it travell smoothly whilst in you hands. (whilst- must be some of the Australianisms are still with me from working there for four years. A native born Haser would never talk that way!)

Thanks for all the thanks and a big thanks to George who took over organization of this wonderful project here on APUG.

Health challenges are gone, but I still have not the time to be around on APUG enough to count as a good organizer and that is what this exchange and all the wonderful people deserve - an organizer who is able to care and not - as I am again - be the last who sends out his cards, only shows up once a month or less etc ...

So I wish George good luck and as much fun as I had.

At least the cards for this round are printed and take a rest under my think book. I will join this round ... once last rounds cards are sent and once this rounds cards are printed ...

Have fun
Ruediger

Hi George, I'm in for 25 again as well - will PM my new address to you.

Thanks to Ruediger for keeping the Exchange going after the previous baton change and a big thanks to you, George, for keeping it alive yet again.

Woohoo..........bring it on!:D

03 May 2012

George:
A BIG thank you for taking on organizing this wonderful exchange. I hope the "baton pass" is as smooth as possible. I am in for the max., same address as previous rounds.

Ruediger:
I am glad to hear that the health challenges are gone, and hope the time/workload crunch is relieved soon. I cannot thank you enough for organizing an exchange as welcoming and supportive as the Postcard Exchange.

Regards,
Darwin

Health comes first!

I'd like to add my own thanks to Ruediger and George. My organisational skills are barely up to getting my cards printed each round so I appreciate the effort you have/are putting into the exchange.

Anyway, I'm in for 25 cards again.
