I further understand that this is not ... scheme that will result in a major financial crisis ...

Be careful, it's addictive and you can get carried away, once you've been in a round of 50 cards its impossible to sign up for less knowing how many great photos you might miss :D

Tell me about it. I'm praying it peters out at around 40 cards this round. Each round has gotten larger and larger.

Well, I have the impression that we won't reach 50 this round. It seems that we have lost some regulars which is too bad. We will see. But I am also thinking about limiting myself to 40 this round. But I have the feel that I have to do the max as organizer ...

You might consider, Rudy, in future rounds splitting the field above 40 cards. Less work for you and us.

I feel like I have to do the max so I don't miss out on any cards :D Besides, there's no real difference between 40 and 50 - haha.

Well, organizing the exchange is the same work for 40 as for 50 or 60. Limiting to 40 participants is not an option and splitting in a group of 40 and a group of the rest is also not an option.

This exchange is looking a little lean, but there is still a little time left so hopefully it will pickup. I'm still fairly new to these exchanges so I'm hoping for more sign ups. Once I get set up it make little difference how many cards I print. I have been shooting quite a bit lately and have processed most of my film, definitely have so fresh images to choose from for this exchange.

I really liked printing several cards, as it forced me to improve my consistency...

However, for this exchange, I think I'll print several different images for more fun !

The only reason <50 is nice is that I often print out a couple extra cards for personal use, and when the total number is 50 or less, I only use half a box of paper. Which really isn't that big of a deal. haha. I need to order more...

That is the reason why I buy the 500 boxes. They hold for several postcard exchanges.

I also love the bigger exchanges because I have so many images that I want to get out there that may not fit into whatever series I'm currently working on....so out they go:D!

After the first round of postcards I did, I decided I needed a 4x6 speed easel. After about 6 months of hunting, I found one on ebay. It's great for these rounds. Between that and a nice digital enlarger timer, banging out 50 prints really isn't that bad.

Find a 4x6 speed easel.

That makes 41.

It seems that we have lost some regulars which is too bad.

You haven't lost this regular! Just a bit later than usual, but count me in. Same details as last round, same number of cards as last round: 25.

Ruediger, you mentioned postcard paper boxes of 500. Where do you buy those? Haven't seen them at Mayr (one of my usual addresses).

I get my 500 boxes from www.phobatec.de, but www.nordfoto.de also lists them. I just checked and was surprised that e.g. www.silverprint.co.uk does not list them, but you can buy around 7 100 sheet boxes from them and are still cheaper than what you pay for a 500 box in Germany. And then it just comes down to shipping costs.

Great to have you in again.
