Happy New Year to all of you postcarders!

It is January and that means it is time for the next rounds signup. Round 19!

This is the schedule for round 19:

January: sign up
February and March: print and send
April: breather

As in the previous rounds, please sign up by sending a PM to me containing your name, address (including the country - this is an international exchange) and the number of cards you are able to send or say maximum for the maximum possible number of cards.

As in the previous rounds, if you have been in the exchange earlier and if your address is the same, you can sing up just with giving the number of cards here in the thread. No PM needed in this case.

As in the previous rounds I will post lists of participants in this thread every once in a while. If you signed in (or if you think so) please come back to this thread and check if your name is on the list. If the name should be on the list but is not, then let me know. Once the address lists are sent out early in October I can not do any changes.

Please read on:

As in the previous rounds, not all participants have been able to send out the cards. For whatever reasons, if you have not fulfilled your last rounds commitment, send your cards before you sign in for this round. Just be fair.

And as in the previous rounds, I am looking forward to this round.

Now for those new to the postcard exchange, here is how it all works out.

First: It is fun!

Second: When sign up is over, I will prepare address lists which I will PM to the participants. You will have to send a card to every address on that list and you should receive back a card from everyone on that list. So if you sign up for e.g. 20 cards you will have to send 20 cards and you should receive 20 cards back.

Third: Did I mention that it is fun?

Cheers
Ruediger

I'm in for an abbreviated amount this time. Lots of sticks in the fire with BPE, CIM and all. So 15 this time. Thanks again, Rudy.

Happy New Year to all involved in this exchange. As others have said the Postcard Exchange is fun, but it is also addictive! A big THANK YOU to Ruediger for coordinating the exchange and sending lists of names to each of us.

Ruediger mentioned the possibility of modifying the 4-month cycle of the exchanges. My opinion is that 4-month cycle works for me, and fits nicely into a year. If the cycle was 5-months then each year will have different months as "sign-up", "print and post", ... And, 6-months is too long between exchanges - "Exchange Withdrawal" becomes a real possibility. I like the suggestion that the sign-up period be 15 or 20 days instead of and entire month. I am open to whatever the group decides to do.

I am in for the max this round. Same address as Round 18.:D

Regards,
Darwin

Hey thought I'd weight in on the schedule. I'm happy with it the way it is. I don't believe giving people more time would help. I'm also not worried about the people who are late, or who never send their cards. I receive enough fantastic cards to make it totally worthwhile. The exchanges also motivate me to get out and photograph and then get in the darkroom and print so that also make it all worthwhile.

I have the same feelings. I got enough fantastic cards to make it fair (although I'll be happy to receive the few I've not received yet ;-) ). I don't think more time would change anything, I guess that people who don't send, simply can't for whatever reason they have.

I'd have one remark though : I'd find fair that all people who receive a card post that they have received (that may already be the case, but in this case that would mean only 11 of my 20 cards made it to their final recipient, which seems quite low). A comment is appreciated (can be a PM if you really dislike my card and don't want to offense !) but not mandatory.

Anyway, let's have FUN and ADDICTION in this new exchange.

Happy New Year, Postcarders!

I´m going to have to sit out this round too. I´m finally moving house (tomorrow) after a lot of messing about. Hopefully the darkroom will be up and running in about 6 weeks, but I can´t guarantee it.
Ruediger, are you taking sign ups for round 20 yet? Count me in for the max on that one! The withdrawal symptoms are really bad.

Have fun
Pete

sigh.

I really hoped to be ready by this round, but the printing as yet doesn't say that another month will give enough progress. (Slow to grok.) But as a sign of faith, I ordered the postcard paper today. I'll return to lurking in eager anticipation until spring. (Already eager for spring in other ways.)

I will go for 30 again. It lets me print them in one night, and address them in one day, and that means that I know I can make the time to get it done on time.

Same address as the last rounds. Thanks for staying on top of this RST. Oh, is it round sign up time again, I said to myself, as I logged on for the first time in a few days
