Love your great country, I think Australians and Canadians share a lot in common.
Regards
Warren

Me and my wife have targeted Australia as one of our next destinations (we love to travel), but we have to stash the greens first, it is so expensive from here.

I got Wazza's Storm Rolling Into Cowie Bay Daintree yesterday. What a print ! I first thought it was color, there is a kind of "cool" effect in the sky and I believed it was blue at first glance. I love the composition also, thanks Wazza !!

Laurent, you had the same feeling than me. That is why I talked about the "the tint", a "cool gray" effect, almost blue. For the first 2 seconds I said to myself "it is a color one".

At last!!!

My cards will be in the mail tomorrow (providing the Post Office is open tomorrow here in BKK).
Never thought it would take so long when I thought about the project for this round. :surprised:

Hope the wait is worth it for you. . . . .

I sat out round 19. Too much other stuff going on. I'd hoped to catch up on a few by checking the print exchange gallery, but there's not one! Couldn't a few of you post your cards - it sounds like there's been lots of great ones.

Sorry guys - the events of the past week have meant I couldn't get to the PO - all closed!

Some excuse Nanette! Couldn't you come up with something better?

Well, the cards keep trickling in from Canada...

wazza's "storm rolling into Cowie bay" -- great sky, but I love the two trees even more. Nice framing to get that echo effect.

DrZish's McCormick's Creek has a great play of light with the shadows of the trees and the trees themselves.

Thanks guys.

Nanette -- received your great little print in the mail yesterday. It sure brings back memories of Bangkok for me. Cheers.

Boy, have I been slow in commenting on the cards I have received - my apologies!

Anyway, I’ve previously commented on 14 cards from 13 people. Since then, cards from 11 more APUGers have come in:

Black Dog - “Early Light” - nice and dark and moody
crispinuk - “Iceland Farmhouse” - a colour print that just glows
Kwhitmore - “Gift Shop of Horrors” - made me smile, and glad I don’t work there
markrewald - “March 2010 Snow Storm” - a parking meter as art - nice print too
Mike Wilde - “3 5x7s” - you are too generous Mike! - I like the two portraits, especially the one of the actor, which has a sort of period look to it - I also liked the ham radio shack, which made me think of my father’s memories (he was a radio operator in WWII)
OMU - “Pier with snow” - another really nice snow scene, which coincidentally appeared in the mail box the same day as markrewald’s - also a very nice print
Rob Skeoch - “View of Mont-Blanc from the Chamonix Valley” - a crisp and evocative landscape printed very well (snow here too
rst - “Zwinger - Rothenburg o.d. Tauber” - like the textures and curves
Tim Gray - “wintery mix” - this says “cold and wet” to me!
trotkiller - “Low Head Lighthouse” - great viewpoint
wazza - “Storm Rolling Into Cowie Bay” - an impressive black and white seascape which benefits from the subtle tint from the colour paper

By my records, 24 people have sent their cards so far, and cards from 6 people (BirgerA, GeoffHill, gordrob, photomem, timk and zumbido) are yet to come. If I have missed acknowledging someone who has sent their card, I apologize and ask that you post here or PM me to advise.

Thanks to everyone for participating.

Hi Everbody,

just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed receiving all your cards! As the new Postcard Exchange will start soon, I thought I would also post that by my records, 23 people have sent their cards so far, and cards from 7 people (BirgerA, drpsilver, gordrob, photomem, timk, wazza and zumbido) are yet to come. If I have missed acknowledging someone who has sent their card, I apologize and ask that you post here or PM me to advise. (sorry Matt for copying your text..)

best regards, and looking forward to Round 20!

Following the good example of Matt, here's also an overdue update from me.

Cards received since my last update:
rst, Zwinger, Rothenburg o.d. Tauber: very sharp for a pinhole. Oh wait, deviation from the previous round, it's not a pinhole . Very nice print, lovely.
DrZish, McCormick's Creek: The cracks in the stones and the shadows on them make for a nice composition.
Trottkiller, lighthouse: nice subject. Sharpness and detail is amazing, but if I were to print this, I think I would try to get some more contrast.
Rob Skeoch, Mont-Blanc: well, that's the contrast I was talking about! Nice shot.
markrewald, Snow storm. I like this one. It's so simple, yet so effective. Sometimes I have trouble seeing photo opportunities in everyday situations, but I have to remind myself that that which might seem simple to me can be very interesting in print. I'll try to learn from this (again).
wazza, Storm Rolling in: stormy sky and an interesting foreground. Well done!

Oh, and I received a card from some guy who goes by the nickname of "kraker". Counting that one as well, I have received 22 out of 26. Not bad at all, and who knows... more might show up!

Thanks for another interesting round. Looking forward to round 20!

Thanks Laurent, Roger.

My PA picked up an Instax Mini last time we were in Singapore; I highjacked it for as long as I could, to get these shots - thankfully the film is readily available here. (She has burned through 15 boxes already . . . . . . )

Pity it is rated so high though - overexposure was a killer on several shots even with me selecting the smallest aperture. From memory about 6400asa!

Not forgotten

Hello all

I've not forgotten you. My postcards are printed, but I did not get around to labeling them before I went on vacation. Will fix that as soon as I get back home (in about 3 weeks).

Best regards

Birger A.

gordrob - “Waterfowl Lake” - a beautiful image printed very well

Thanks to everyone for participating.

I also received gordrob's "Waterfowl Lake" in Banff National Park. I've been to Banff several times but never got to visit this lake as I always went out of season! Thanks for the memory from home though -- one of my favorite things to do was exploring what was available along the Icefields Parkway, whenever I was in the vicinity. Maybe the next time I'm in Canada I'll actually be able to go there during the summer!

havent been online too much lately, but have received 2 more cards from round 19 since I last looked:

From Birger, a beautiful macro shot of an orchid that looks like an eye that looks like an insect
From gordrob, a totally different but equally beautiful landscape, I love the reflections in the lake!
