Just FYI, I am going to try and get postcards out in the next week. However, it may be Spring Break before I can get them printed and sent. (6 March if you are curious)

Just a reminder, folks.

The schedule for this round sets aside February and March for printing and sending out cards - you still have time!!!

Got Rachelle's card the other day. Wonderful photo and wonderful print. Also got the pre-printed one from Don...

What Tim said! Received Rachelle's very nice IR print, a beauty as always. And I got the pre-printed one as well.

Haven't decided on what to print myself; maybe the shot still has to be taken, even. Oh well, there's still time!

I got Mick Fagan's absolutely gorgeous card today in the box. Wondeful composition, beautiful tones, great print (Mick : what's the negative format ? it can't be a 4x5 contact, may be a crop from a panoramic ?)

I also got the pre-printed card, not well suited for this exchange (I won't comment the message, but I appreciate the intent anyway).

P.S. (and Edit) I got curious and went to dominbox's blog. I found a scan of at least one APUG card, the blog says somewhere that if you do not wish to have your card posted on the blog, you should write "no post" on the back of the card you sent. This may not hurt, but does not seem fair since this is not related to APUG and was not published here. (On the other hand, I really appreciate the part of the "Mission" about having people turning cell phones and other invaders off !! )

Many thanks to all for your kind comments about my card.

Laurent, it is a very small enlargement of a 4x5" negative, enough to give it the cropping required for the panoramic view I envisaged when I first saw these wheat silos.

I nearly didn't take the picture as it was extremely hot, low 40º's C and an absolute gale of a hot super dry northerly blowing from the centre of the continent.

I'll hopefully be printing a near identical cropped print on 12x16" paper on the weekend, test strips show terrific detail and tonality.

Mick.

Laurent -- thanks for the heads-up. I've emailed him asking him to remove my postcard immediately.

In all honesty, I don't know if I will do any more of these exchanges. I'm still missing nearly a quarter of the postcards from the last exchange with no comments from most of the people who are late as to when (or if) we might expect the cards, and then we have people like donminbox signing up for this exchange for his own gain with no intention of honoring it in the manner that we expect.

...

I have to admit I had a "what the hell" moment when I got the pre-printed postcard. Guess who will be getting a gift shop card? Don't quit on us Rachelle, I really love the work you do. I also got your card on Saturday. I am just starting out with infrared and hope to get some effects like you did. Any tips?

Rachelle, I know what you mean, for the last round I'm 41 out of 50 so I'm doing a bit better. Round 18 was the first round that I printed out the address list and checked off the cards as they arrived. I'm probably better off if I don't keep track. After looking at the cards I have received in round 18, I'm am still very happy that I participated, there are some really fantastic cards.

As far as the store bought card, that is the first one that I have received after doing about 6 exchanges.I pm'ed donminbox about the card and he said that it was send by mistake. dominbox has assured me that he will send a proper card right away. Still waiting and will certainly post if I receive the card.

Finally I will make every effort to get my cards out on time, I was one of the delinquent participants in round 18.

The only cards I count are the ones I send out...that way I'm never disappointed. By the way I would hope that if anyone missed receiving my card they would PM me because I always have plenty of spares.

So far this round I've received cards from Rachelle and Christian. "Two Happy Nuns" is just fantastic. Great expressions, perfect timing and well composed. Rachelle's statue is well, wow. What else can I say? The subject is incredible and the HIE film is perfect for that subject. Glow-y and dramatic. I like it. (makes me want to go there!)

A cracking start to this round, Christian's happy nuns, Mick Fagan's cinematic wheat silos, Rachelle's beautiful IR statue and today, Jostie's enchanted woods, the lighting and depth of field really make it look enchanted.

Crispin

(as with others, if anyone has not received a card from me they were expecting send me a PM and I'll pop another in the post, the amount of cards that circulate in these exchanges, and the state of the UK's postal service, mean there's probably a good chance the odd cards aren't going to make it.)

Same here, for this and previous rounds. If you don't receive a card from me, let me know and I'll send another. I print extras and even if those ran out I could print more. Card do get lost, I always send a card to my self and have even had one of those get lost.

I just did four miles on the treadmill...I'm feeling better now, although I think four miles of thrashing through the bush (moose-style) would have been better.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I do love the exchange, I get a lot out of it, and I don't know why things like this get me all fired up. In any event, I think I should do what some of you do, and not check off the cards I get for each round. Would make things easier I think.

Cheers.

That's what I do. I sent out 15 last round, and got 8. I didn't complain because the ones I got were so outstanding.

I just received Mick Fagan's card. Outstanding. I just got mine in the mail. I once again printed on 4x5 instead of using the postcards (except for a few). I really am not happy with the curl on the lighter paper and will switch back to the postcard paper for the next round. As others have said If you haven't received any of my postcards from previous rounds (or don't receive this one) let me know. It is so much fun getting photos from all round the world. This exchange is addicting!

I never keep track of who didn't send me cards. I'm still getting cards from Round 18 and now ones for 19 are coming it. If I had to guess, I would say I get at least 80% of the cards I'm supposed to.

Received cards this past week form ...
Mick Fagan: Fantastically sharp, well composed, and nicely printed. I do not think I could photograph in 40C heat, WOW! Thanks Mick.
Shaggysk8: I really like how this photography prompts the viewer to ask any number of questions. The blank wall with some shadow accents make the print more compelling. Thanks Paul.
Gurkenprinz: Two really happy nuns alright. You captured the spirit of the moment in this photo. I smile every time I look at you card. Thanks Christian.

Even though I was disappointed when receiving donminbox's card, my addiction to this exchange has not diminished.:D I have also kept track of the cards that I receive, the cards I do not get are part of being involved in a large exchange of work. As with others, if I (drpsilver) was supposed to send you a card and you did not get it PM me and I will get one in the mail after my next darkroom session.

As for Round #19, my cards went in the mail yesterday. Hope you get them soon.

Regards,
Darwin

Thank you Darwin, you got it, totally why I took the picture. this building is in a council run grave yard which is all run down but open for dog walkers, I just felt it said a lot after walking around it for the first time, and also a lot about the town I live, which I also love for this reason
