I also received bdial's postcard. Thank you very much. Very nicely printed and an interesting image. Old cars make such a great subject. Where do you hail from, Barry? I couldn't make out the postmark's city of origin.

I got Allen's Castle yesterday. Man, I love the detail inherant in this print. I can hardly wait to sick my loupe on those walls.

Received a card from bdial of an old Lincoln. I like the mixture of high and low values with very little in between. This image gives the viewer a lot to look at. Well done Barry:smile: When I found Allen Friday's card in my mail box I said to my self "This is not in Iowa!". Nice story on how this castle came to be in Ireland. (Since I did not send Allen a card in R18, this may be a R17 card.) Thanks.

Regards,
Darwin

Just got Allen's Rockfleet Castle. Very nice light on the subject and trees and lovely clouds. Well worth the wait.

Allen -- your card arrived today as well. A very nice reminder of my time in Ireland where I spent most of my time chasing old structures like this down some very iffy roads at times. It was a lot of fun! Great story behind the castle as well. Thanks so much.

Allen's card arrived today.
I love this really nice shot of an old castle, taken at the moment with beautifull light, nice composition en print.
Also the historical information gives an extra dimension to the subject.
Thanks

Dead Beat Post card Exchanger has my darkroom up and running again. Sorry for the delay!! I can bear the usual stink eye and hisses from the group but a darkroom bullet that could not be dodged. I will be in the darkroom printing this Saturday to send out. Sorry all for the delay!!! Peter

P.S. I'll print a second different image for the next round at the same time.

It's always a treat to get a postcard regardless of how delinquent it is. I'll be looking forward to your card.

I finally took some time to go through the cards received so far for round 18, and stumbled upon a round 17 card.

I received Allen Friday's Rockfleet Castle card a few weeks ago. Lovely card, lots of detail, very interesting. Thanks!

I have looked back through my RD17 cards and discovered that I am 5 or 7 shy. I no longer have my address list so I cannot say who I did not receive one from.

Been there, done that...but yay! Looking forward to getting your card Kate. (I have no idea what address I was using for this exchange but if it's in Manitoba, that's where to send it).

A deadbeat record??

1) Yes, I realize this is posted in the Round 17 comments and the previous entry is almost 2 years old!

2) I am able to get time for film and darkroom again, and even better, I've printed my postcards for Round 17.

To all Round 17 participants - if your address has changed since then (mid-2009), PM me here so I can send the postcard to your current address

Thanks!

I never thought of getting another picture for Round 17.

Real nice photo, composition, lightening and print. Love the paper you used.

Hurray for new years resolutions.

Jon, you print landed with yesterdays mail, and I did a double take reading the label. Round 17; wow that was a while ago.

All the same, the image was worth waiting for. A nice range of tones, a tasteful use of borders, and a nice and sharp print.
The window frame shows heaps of textures. The lurking shaodws in the interior hint at an oil drum, and something else that makes us curious.
Plus the tire looks to be in good shape, so why is it lying apparently abandon?
So many great queries to ponder while appreciating the visual content of the image.

Well done.
