Over the past few days I got lovely cards from Johnny Walker, Wazza, and Mark Fisher - thanks to all. I hope to put in some darkroom time later this week, or perhaps on the weekend, so that I can get those cards printed!

I have recieved Johnny Walker's, Mike Wilde's and Wazza's photos for this round.
John, I picked up my mail after midnight after a very long day. Your beaver looked very peculiar to me, but I couldn't figure out what was off. I looked at it again after a decent amount of sleep and realized I'd been looking at it upside down. AHHH! I like it!
Mike, I enjoy the graphics of your image, but I don't miss the GTA. Just not a city girl. Good for you for putting in the time and patience to get this shot.
Wazza - trees! I like trees! I enjoy the symetry of the shot. It is beautifully printed too.

I got my cards into the mail. They are inkjet prints from a slide scan. Sorry, but my spouse's recent illness has put me so far behind on my darkroom work I would have been months late with silver prints. Please let me know how the inkjets hold up through the mails.

Looking forward to more wonderful cards this round.

Nice idea. Half my cards are sent - the other half not even printed. Only had a couple of hours in the darkroom on darkroom day (Sunday!)
I think the other half will be of a different, I have a low boredom threshold!

Thanks to Mark Fisher - nice shot, definitely interesting when out of context like that.

Three more showed up today:

Mark Fisher's country fair series -- love the graphic element!

Hal's photogram -- also a first for me

Lillian's 'The Head Gardener' -- I really like the composition and colours. As a slide- and FE-shooter myself, it really speaks to me.

I received a postcard from David Goldfarb of a fishpond in Hawaii. I gather from Greg's post above that it is actually from Round 8. Thanks, David. Better late than never.

Received five cards during the past two weeks.
Mark Fisher's detail of a carnival sign. I like how you composed this without any midtones.
The card from wazza just the opposite of Mark's card that it is predominately midtones.
A nice "street photography" card arrived from stu.
It would have been cool if johnnywalker's beaver had been nice enough to repair his dam.
Most recently the card from sly. I really like to composition off so much stuff, but it does not have a "busy" look. Very well done.

Thanks to all for your lovely cards.

The good news is that most of my international card will be mailed today. The remaining international, and all domestic, cards will be mailed early next week.

Regards,
Darwin

Received Stuart's card of the market in Marrakesh -- never made it there, but reminds me of so many markets I've been to in Asia. Like the fact that the cook is a bit vertically challenged, like myself. ;-)

I still haven't started printing mine yet so please be patient.
I have work showing at the Art Gallery of Hamilton In Nov. and that work is now delivered.
This up-coming weekend is my annual studio open house and sale and I haven't even started framing yet.
Once I get that past me I'll get the postcards moving.

Rob -- I'm in a similar situation myself. My current living situation has deteriorated badly so I'll be moving again soon which means more delays in setting up my darkroom. I'll be late but unless something else major happens I can guarantee that everyone should receive their cards before the end of the year.

I just printed up my 60 cards this weekend (50 for the exchange, and an extra 10 for friends, etc.). My girlfriend asked me, "You haven't put on the labels and stamps yet, right?" When I asked her why she cared, she answered she wanted to put them on. Fine with me - I'm not going to ask any more questions.

I should get them out in the next day or two. I've already received a couple and will post my comments on them shortly.

Two nice postcards arrived today from opposite sides of the pond: Kirby's Mill from Chris Wawak and Black Dog's vegetation at a WWII bunker.

Just an FYI for those of you who will be late in sending postcards (myself included): my address will change (again!) as November 15th, so if you're sending cards near or after that time please PM me for my new snail mail details.

I'm in the same boat as Rob Skeoch as this weekend is my darkroom group's annual photo show and sale and I also have to mat, spot, and frame, my prints. At least all my postcards are printed before I had to pack up my "sniff" beloved darkroom.

My cards went in the mail over the past few days, and I've been receiving a card every day or so. This is the fun part of the exchange - checking the mail! I've received several cards and I'll comment on them when I have more than a moment to type here. Thanks again to all.

Mine went out today. My wife volunteered to do the mailing. Hope the international recipients like the Karsh stamps .

The postage was $40.00 +, but the cards I receive are priceless!

I promise to comment on the ones I've received soon.

Quick update: I've received 4 or 5 more cards since my last update, I'll post some detailed comments on them soon. As to my cards... haven't printed them yet, but at least I have selected a very likely candidate from my recent negatives. I guess it will take me a few more weeks before they will be printed and sent. I'll let you know.

Thanks. I put the camera, etc on some of the cards, but I forgot on most, I think. I used my Bronica RF645, Tri-X, Pyrocat HD. The paper is Ilford MG RC pearl, with Sprint chemicals. The bull sculptor mainly used railroad tie plates for the bull, but it is about 60 feet high!

The King(s) have arrived!

And I saw Elvis walking down the street today too...

A few more postcards to report on:

Jon King's Egyptian Bull - I spent the summer chasing similar structures across Manitoba, can only hope mine turn out as well.

Matt King's driftwood - I really like the tones in this photo; the leaves add something extra.

drpsilver's pines in fog, unfortunately arrived slightly damaged, but still evocative nevertheless.
