No "APUG Postcard Exchange Round #..." on this one, so at first I thought it was the first card for round 15, but no, it was a belated entry for round 14. Nice surprise.

Received a card from brchambe, well, apart from the vignetting, I wouldn't really have thought it was a Holga shot. Nice one, thanks, Brian.

This gives a total of 30 sent, 26 received, which is quite an improvement compared to a few weeks ago. I'm satisfied with that.

Now, excuse me while I go and google for "Itoya book" :wink:.

I'm still waiting for nine...but I have a feeling that many who were late missed or forgot my post about my new address, so I'll have to wait for those to get forwarded to me. That being said, I really enjoyed this round.

I've received Lynda's awesome card - I didn't know you effectively ended up with a positive when cross processing XP2 though I guess that makes sense. I'm curious to try that out as it would save a step in enlarged negative making for alternative processes. I also received Brian Chambers card and Blackdog's.

A few more cards have finally been forwarded:

Lynda's really interesting process for the Washington Avenue Bridge

Brian Chambers Holga shot -- very nice! You've inspired me to (maybe) do a Holga shot next round! :smile:

Just to update I have 9 more postcards from Round 14:
  • Jeff Bannow's pines taken at PhotoStock is simply beautiful
  • Matthijs' image taken in Pompeii
  • Matt squeezed out one more image of a creek
  • The dentist chair from Nanette unfortunately has a USPS sticker across it :-(
  • The little chef from BirgerA is cute
  • Lynda's inverted image is really fantastic
  • Bandstand from Sile
  • ErikG's end of the road for a car
  • Relaxing Sheep from Allen
Thanks people for closing this round out.

Regards, Art.

Usually the USPS stickers can be removed without damaging the cards. I mean at least the stickers that I received with postcards did not damage it :smile:

I'll send you another copy of the dentist's chair with your next card.
Nanette,

No need really. After ruediger's post, I tried to remove the sticker and he was right, the adhesive isn't very strong at all and it peeled off without any damage. It's a beautiful postcard!

Regards, Art.

I got one more card from this round today: Allen Friday's beautiful picture from New Zealand. I love the soft tones in this, those clouds are almost spirit like. I bet that was an amazing trip. Thanks! Well worth the wait.

So far, I've received and responded in respect to 18 official exchange round 14 cards (plus 1 bonus - thanks BWKate) - thanks to david b, Mark Fisher, Buster6x6, rst, sly, wazza, mooseontheloose, drpsilver, Birger A., Black Dog, Bob F, Crispinuk, erikg, gr82bart, Jbannow, Jon King, Mick Fagan, Tim Gray.

Now, I'm finding myself getting confused. My round 15 cards are in danger of getting intermixed with my round 14 cards.

I've identified one further card that is marked as a round 14 card, and two further cards that I'm pretty sure are from round 14:

Lynda: a fascinating cross-processed bridge;

Sile: this Bandstand looks so windy (nice to see another Olympus OMG fan);

brchambe: one of the best Holga images I've seen.

I believe this means that I'm only waiting for three more: AdamKap, Allen Friday, and PepMiro.

Considering all the great cards I've received from them in the past, I'm happy to remain patient.

Matt

Just realised Allen Friday's great picture from the land of the long white cloud is from round 14. This has brought back very pleasant memories of my own trip to NZ in 2005, one of the things that struck me about New Zealand was the quality of the clouds and you have illustrated that perfectly. It's also interesting that you have shot this scene in monochrome as it is renowned for the intense cyan of the glacially fed lake.
In summary, well worth the wait, thank you.

Yep, also received Allen Friday's card this week. Great sky, great landscape. At the risk of sounding like Crispin's echo: well worth the wait, thank you.
