I have finally made a choice for my own card and I will start printing on the next rainy day,
Oh Howard, lucky you, that you have the decision to print on a rainy day. Here where I live we have not had rain for weeks (or should I say months). And if I look into our backyard I would prefer to print on a rainy day soon.

...If you prefer it toned then my postcards are interactive! Fill a tray with tea or coffee and simply soak (keeping it imersed!) until the desired tone appears. 15-45 minutes. You will all be getting one this round...

Great idea you have there. Everyone could tone theirs and we could compare the results. Might be the basis of a new exchange eh?

Rudiger-you asked about Presycycol. Well I've just printed up a whole load of images for the next round shot on ClassicPan 100 and devved in Presycycol, so I'll make sure you get one. IMO this brew is vg with all 3 speeds of Classicpan, especially the 400 which can be on the grainy side (it is Forte 400 after all).
Greg-maddening, isn't it?:sad::sad:

My cards are already sent. They are a photo of the ruins of a city (Belchite) that in the Spanish civil war, in 1937, was intensivelly bombed and most of unhabitants were killed.
After 70 years, ruins remain nearly in the same situation.
I hope you'll like it!

Received a beautiful "The Heretic" from Pete H and a very enigmatic and abstract print from Black Dog.

I printed my cards on Sunday, toned them last night, and addressed tonight. They will go out tomorrow. With efficiency like this, it is a good thing I don't make my living this way.

This is my first print exchange. I am loving seeing the treasures in the mailbox. Having to send out cards to this group was enough motivation for me to try a couple of new things (or new to me). I used Berg Brown/Copper tone for the first time to try to liven up my prints to APUG standards. I bored my wife with 'this or this' last night as I played with different toning times, trying to get it just right. In other words, I have loved the challenge. I cannot wait for round 11.

I got Art's cyanotype yesterday too. It really stands out on the bulleting board with the rest that have arrived. It may inspire me to try the process too.

I got the prints made finally, now I just need to make the labels and send them off. I have a show this weekend, so it'll have to happen afterwards. I should be able to get them in the mail early next week.

I'm really enjoying everyones postcards.

What!!!!

Hey all!

I just got another nice pile of postcards in the mail today - thanks to everyone who has sent theirs so far! There have been a lot of great cards again this round. I also wanted to say that I got a note from someone about Jake's (Black Dog) mailing address being incorrect. His country of residence should read Scotland, so if you have an address that is another country, please let me know.

Thanks!

- Randy

I've got Jake's (Black Dog's) mailing address as being Normandy, France not Scotland. His address is the same as Round#9 which is still Normandy, France. I've got no one on my list from Scotland. I might not have a full list, either. Have you figured this one out yet?

Yes, all we had was the address in France and the rest of the address does also look more like an address in France and not in Scotland. Jake?

Mine are now in the hands of the post office - Canadian and international destinations mailed two days ago and the USA cards mailed yesterday.

I've titled them "Can You Guess?". I figure that the nature of what is in the photo will either be obvious to everyone, or unclear to everyone. It will be interesting to see which.

Sadly, there is no prize (other than satisfaction) for being the first to guess correctly:smile:.

Matt

PS I've received several wonderful cards so far - I'll post my comments soon.

FYI the address in France will still work (it's my parents' address) though I am currently working in Scotland. PM'd Randy with the new address a couple of weeks or so ago . Thanks again for all the fantastic cards I've recieved so far.

Jake sent me his updated address, and I show it in my final list, but for whatever reason, it was not included in what got sent out. I won't post it openly in the forum, but anyone who has yet to mail their cards to Jake (Black Dog) can PM or email me and I will give you his current address.

Ha, this was probably my fault. I got the updated list from Randy and only had a look at the end to find out what was new. Sorry, next time we will handle this a bit different. E.g. send out an spreadsheet with all addresses and for each participant a list with names where cards have to be sent to. Having the addresses in a spreadsheet might be easier for those people who print labels.

Ruediger,

Did you read my question and guess on who was Ingo and who was Ruediger in your fantastic postcards? It was posted awhile back.

Pm sent to Randy about Black Dog's current address. I do remember he said that the Normandy address was his parents place.
No worries as I haven't sent out my cards yet as I have to write my stuff on the back.

If I might add another suggestion. Could you possible show the addresses actually formatted as opposed to all the information on a single line. I knew what to do with the U.S. addresses but I was mainly just guessing about how to break the international addresses into multiple lines.

Got mine out yesterday. 42 cards took longer then I thought. Can't make a print without some dodging and burning.

Yes, that is a good idea. We should add the addresses formated as we get them. I needed to feed them into my program and so it was easier to parse a single line per participant (Sometimes I'm lazy) Especially the UK addesses have many "parts" and you have to make the decision: should the address be still readable or should there be enough room for a stamp

Oh yeah! Of course in your avatar! The dark glasses! Now I see and understand. Thanks for clearing up that mystery that was keeping me up at night. I guess you guys don't live that far away from each other. I have been to Germany once with a friend of mine. We drove from Amsterdam to Germany. We went to Trier, Cologne, Aachen, Bad Berleberg, and Heidelberg. We even drove to France and found the Canadian RCAF base that I was born on. It was just outside Bistroff and not far from Metz.

Yes, we both live not too far away from Heidelberg and for American measures I would say we are nearly neighbors  I wonder how many German APUGers are living in this region. Maybe I should try to organize a German get-together like the UK-APUGers do I think twice a year.
