A few days ago I went out to my local cinema to take a few snaps of a Sherman tank that was parked there to promote a new movie about a great but mostly forgotten WW2 battle that was fought on the river Schelde (Scheldt) in this area. I was not the only one there.

The new CT scanners that are being brought into operation in airport security checkpoints are significantly more damaging to film than the previous technology.
 
Oh yes, I’ve had my films zapped at Heathrow, 6-7 years ago.
 
...and in China,where I was last year, every train station, bus station and museum had x-ray checking at both the entrance and exit.

I have rolls of HP5+ that have seen way more than 15 scans in total over a period of three weeks.
And that starts to show.
Where the area around the sprocket holes is dark grey, you know .
 


Only great light can make a filthy, shabby poor city look good.

The new CT scanners are, indeed 'new' and were not in operation 6 to 7 years ago. Anyway, no issues with travel for me right now, since I am unable to travel. Cheers, SnC.
