Great stuff Jim. Do you overnight out there or are these typically day trips for you?

Thanks MTG, this was a backpack (about 5 miles in) and camped at the same spot for two days and got to observe the high and low tides. It wasn't overly crowded.

Southern Kentucky, just over the TN border near Big South Fork National Recreation Area from some springs back. Got there just a bit early for full bloom of the Mt Laurel. Still need to get back there again. This overlooks what I believe, if memory serves correct, the Blue Heron Mining site below on the river. 5dmkii, 17-40L

Thank you! Kentucky is beautiful, especially the eastern half. I will be back for an adventure motorcycle rally riding up, around and through the Red River Gorge in October. Hopefully can snag a few photos along the way. So many natural sandstone arches in that area. Maybe I will post a few B&W from a trip there about 4 years ago.

Well, now I have to post some images. Most of these would be better in the Woodlands thread but here is just as well. I am gonna do a faux paus, so be warned. There is a person in this first image (my wife, taking a cell phone pic) but I like it in this context for scale. Nikon FM2n, 20/2.8 ai, kentmere 100, Princess Arch, Red River Gorge, KY. This was a rainy day and I hand held this at low shutter speeds. I will post a few more later.
