Very nice work everyone! It's interesting to see a b&w image of the "subway." I know they're out there, but that place has a deserved reputation for some crazy colors.

Here is another one of an often repeated vantage point. It was early March so there was almost no color at that time of year so went with black and white. Mamiya 7ii, Acros 100, 50mm, Polarizer + ND filter.

The pot holes caused by the circular water movements are nicely captured in your photograph.

While learning w technique everywhere and not having a clean nor ideal darkroom, I enjoy the enlarging processes and different version making. Somewhere afield in South Florida (a 68,000 acre wildlife management area while I hunt dove). Said scene(s) I’d guarantee never photographed before. Not an unusual concept as much land we have. Fuji 6x9 Gsw690 straight no filter, and Arista EDU 100 w Xtol, at harsh midday full sun daytime. Non scanned, just iPad reflectance & general cropping in iPad. Rc, Rc, and FB Matte. I’m still trying to understand choice of scene, composition, etc, then when printing I find I’m still composing… so many variables but to me it’s about what I see, then feel, and then my interpretation of the aesthetics.

Those are really wonderful. Can you talk a bit about:

• Your EI
• Your exposure placement
• Your developer and development discipline
• How you manage shadows and highlights.

Thanks. Lab developed with the Darkroom. DDX. Overcast even light mid morning. Average meter reading with Pentax Digital Spot Meter. Polarizer of course helped with glare. Good conditions for taking photos that day. Cheap scan.

Went to an overlook a few winters back for some landscapes. The fog prevented that but the capture was nice nonetheless. Looking out into the void, literally. Leica IIIc, 35/3.5 elmar, hp5+

I always come back to this image. Captured this at dusk after a brutal 15 or so mile hike up and down and over the Cumberland Plateau. I was on a swinging bridge with low light making this an extremely challenging hand held capture. Lowly Nikon fg-20 (makes a great light weight beater for hiking), series e 50/1.8, gold 200, home processed, pakon scan. I showed the reverse view in that TriX pic last week from a later trip. This was peak fall colors or just before.

I'd come back to it, too! Just wonderful....it almost jumps out of the screen, or, conversely, invites the viewer right in.

Fog adds an atmosphere that I rarely have available and when I do I have not thought of a good location so I loose the opportunity.

This was making lemonade out of lemons. We had a good freeze on the plateau which led to hoar hair frost....it was beautiful and I wanted to capture it plus a good landscape. The fog would not let me so I just took what I had and was grateful I snapped a few frames. It was a very peaceful hike that day mixed with some melancholy as I realized the last time I had hiked that trail was with my mother who is now passed 8 years. But such is life and and I need get to relive a pleasant memory. The capture turning out was just icing on the cake.
