I love the colors, textures, and balance.

Many thanks.

It was one of those moments with a brooding overcast sky but brightly lit subject. The end result almost looks like a composite photograph, but the scene really did look like this.

Very well done. A photograph to be proud of.

Thanks. It's one I've struggled with to balance. Foreground to background and how dramatic the overall image should be. It's still not right. Added to that, the bottom half of the stones were buried in peat and didn't weather at the same rate. The top is darker than the bottom, so they naturally look like they weren't printed properly.

I think you're being too critical, it's a very nice shot. Reminds me of a Fay Godwin photograph "Callanish after Hailstorm, Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides, Scotland".

Edit: I just realized that you apparently took your photograph in the same location! I didn't read your caption closely enough.

.

I admire quite a lot of her work, so appreciate any comparison even if it's just about being on the same real estate.

This is the last one of this series, and one of the very first taken, around 1992, the youngest was shot in 2017.

The photo's I will show now are from my anno 2000 book on megaliths 'DE STILTE DER STENEN': http://www.photoeil.be/books/de-stilte-der-stenen.html.
These were made in Drenthe (Hondsrug) in the North of the Netherlands, Wéris near Durbuy in Belgium and Le Golfe de Morbihan In Bretagne, France.
They were all shot with Hasselblad and Technorama 617 on AGFA APX 400 processed in Rodinal 1+50 when at 400 ASA and Refinal (undiluted/replenished) when at 1000 ASA (Technorama handheld), and some filters: Yellow, Yellow-Green, Green and Orange.

The Prints, handmade by me on AGFA MCC FB 111, were reproduced by a photoengraving company for the publisher/printer LANNOO.
This is the cover.
