Portra 160 accidentally exposed at 400

Hi all,

I accidentally exposed a roll of 160 NC at 400 instead of 125/160.. how should i process the film to get any kind of working result? Push it two stops?

You really aren't that far under, normal development times may work fine combined with shorter times at the enlarger.

A typical push on C-41 is 30 seconds extra per stop (or 10 seconds per 1/3 stop).

160 to 400 is 1-1/3-stops so plus 40

From 125 it's another 1/3 so plus 50 total

If this is a truly important roll try shooting another roll shot at 400, cut it in thirds and process it at normal time and two different push times to see what works for you.

One stop push at most. Color negative film has lots of latitude.

Agree with the one stop push and the latitude of color neg film It's very forgiving film compared to chrome film.
