No, but this is the only POP I've heard of anywhere. I notice they mention it being a nitrocellulose based emulsion, which would seem to mean questionable stability. Not that I really know anything about it, beyond using it occasionally.

I haven't tried it either, but I have been looking it over after you posted the link.

It does seem to be the only source around. I hope I can give it a whirl in the spring.

Note that they sell everything you need to make albumen paper, but it needs to be sensitized with silver nitrate solution before printing, because sensitized albumen paper needs to be used fairly soon after it dries (ideally within 24 hours of sensitizing) or it starts turning brown and losing speed.

This is how it was sold when albumen printing was a common process--albumenized paper that had to be sensitized by the photographer.

I did note that you had to sensitize it yourself, and understood why.

Being new to this, I'm trying to figure out if its the same silver nitrate solution I would use for colloadian plates.

One of my goals would be to make wet plates and albumen prints from those plates.

Collodion is Nitrocellulose. Collodio - chloride printing-out papers were historically more stable than Gelatino - chloride POPs.

APP albumenized paper by altphotoproducts.com requires 15% Silver Nitrate Solution.

Wet-plate collodion Silver Nitrate solution is usually about 10%.

Thanks. Makes me curious why nitrocellulose film base is relatively unstable while collodion is stable.

Just plain old gun-cotton? Not some mixture?

Peter, Let us know how this turns out. Both in terms of the paper quality and doing business with this website.
