What 4x5 large format camera do you shoot?

Sure you can, that’s why you are looking at more potential 4x5 cameras right now isn’t it! Or is that me 😬

No, I think I'm OK with 4x5 for now-- I might pick up a 4x5 Graflex SLR at some point if I find a nice one, largely to complete the set (I have a 2x3 and a 3x4), but it's not a priority.

If we're limiting ourselves to just 4x5, I still have multiple cameras from a Speed Graphic (which I don't use much) to a Sinar F, a Sinar Alpina/A1, a Sinar Norma, and a Travelwide pinhole. I have a Canham 5x7 with a reducing back for 4x5 but don't use the reducing back currently. I answered Sinar because that ends up being the brand I use the most in 4x5.

I put myself down in the Graflex category, as I have 2, but the Meridian 45B is my favorite of my 4x5's!

so to add my cameras (after my earlier comment):

4x5: Linhof TK45, Sinar Norma 4x5, and Sinar F 4x5
5x7: Rittreck 5x7, Sinar Norma 5x7, and Sinar P2 5x7
8x10: Gibellini something, Sinar Norma 8x10.

(I also have some 6x9, but I'll leve them off...)

Well now I cannot add anymore so, place yours in the reply section.

Well, you might be through, but this discussion will go on forever.

I have no idea what the SURVEY capabilities of this FORUM are, but it seems like an automated survey would be best -- one that starts with a basic list, but adds cameras automatically as people put them in. I doubt that this FORUM'S SURVEY function has that capability. Maybe SURVEYMONKEY? Or one could be written using CGI/PERL, etc. And then there are the questions of "What did you use in the past?", future, on-the-job, etc.

Good surveys are always more involved that anyone would think -- "Sure seems like a simple question".

AND FYI, for me? Currently it's a Toko Nikki II and a Toko FL-452.

The logic behind this poll is actually potentially very useful, to have a definitive breakdown of what cameras are actually being used. That allows us to know which lens boards are the most common, what are the commonest GG screen sizes; and a lot more.

It would also be useful to know what formats. It needs some thoughts, and perhaps discussion with Sean.

I keep coming back to my Toyo 4x5 no matter what other cameras I am buying. It's not the prettiest, doesn't have all the movements or the most rigid front standard but it has never let me down. I do want to size up but I think this one's a keeper.

I have an Intrepid but now I'll have to sell it for an Other.

I shoot what my late uncle left me in the 1970's. It was a 1909 Seneca 4x5 and some film holder. After some restoration and a 1950's vintage Wollensak lens, it has been a real hoot to shoot.
