Colin, Thanks for posting the link.
The fact that Kodak have reached the same revenue or turnover as last year could be because those who could afford have stocked up after the bad news about Kodak came out a few months ago.
Sale in the next few months could be lower than normal because of that.

DeSabatto is in my opinion over optimistic, it seems like all corporations have adopted this optimistic tone when they speak to the public but there is rarely any truth to the story.
I hope i am wrong on all counts since i shoot by far more Kodak film than any other brands.

Interesting. He said Kodak's film sales through 10 months 2011 had matched last year's 12-month totals.

Scott is one of the heads of the sales division, and is not involved (last I heard) in film Development or R&D. I have his title around here somewhere if anyone insists.

That was actually what i wanted to convey in my first post but i can see that i missed that greatly.
The film sale in the first 10 month is equal to all 12 months last year i think is due to the reported problems with Kodak. It would be interesting to know if film sale in the last 3 month is higher than the same 3 months last year.

Amazing that it's anywhere near last year's, quite frankly.
I'm surprised we still have any Kodak film at all: the way I see it it'll be just Fuji and Ilford plus a few China makers in a coupla years time...
Let's face it: we are in a depression, and any suggestion that low-selling lines will stay for a long time is just dreaming.
On the other hand, it may become finally a niche market, in which case its future is assured.

We'll see. I won't claim to know a tenth of what Photo Engineer has forgotten in his days, but I will say that Kodak has top notch quality on its film and chemistry offerings. Only Ilford and Fuji match, and since there will always be film (in whatever form or market share), I can only say that a company could do worse than to have quality to offer by way of marketing.
