Available or discontinued makes no difference. Film canisters sitting on a shelf without a specific plan to shoot them are just a waste.
The special qualities any film may have are only of value when they are used and I'd hazard a guess that most people with a stash of Plus X have fewer years ahead of them, than behind. What the heck are we saving our special films for, the apocalypse?
