howdy folks. i need your expertise...

curious about developing plus-x, shot at iso 500, in D-76 1:1

digital truth has a time of 7.75 minutes for d-76 stock. i was going to add 2 minutes but thought i would ask the "pros" here first.

any recommendations will be GREATLY appreciated!

John

i have seen that info but again i need info for d-76 at 1:1. this only supplies info for stock solution (unless i am missing something).

Oops, missed the fact that there was no D76 1:1 line at the table, sorry.

no sweat Anon... i reckon there is some wisdom in Nancy's post there. i'll mix up some stock solution.

Do you store your D-76 at a 1:1 dilution level?

Generally, if you aim to use D-76 at 1:1 you already have a stock solution, the 1:1 dilution is a working solution usually mixed at the time you use it.

Are you using a commercial D-76 package, or mixing from scratch?

Aside from all that, you could probably use the times shown for Xtol 1:1 by adding a minute or so.

i shoot a LOT of film so i keep it mixed up at 1:1. by a lot i mean about 75-100 rolls a month. combined with only cold (COLD) water being available this time a year i let the mix sit and come to temp (20-21 degrees).

i will try the xtol plus 1 minute route and report back.

Hi John, are you looking for something specific (high contrast or grain for example) with such combination?

high contrast primarily. have always been a fan...

i saw some prints form the combo a while back and was instantly on board with it! i shoot rangefinders with a few super fast lenses so iso 500 is pretty much all i need.
