I especially like Red River as a paper source and paper brand.

Service has been excellent and I know several photographers who buy from them.

I'm currently enjoying Red River's Aurora Art White, a 300# mat white untextured paper, which I buy as 11X17 and use for full size or half size prints.

Another paper that's been useful is Hahnemuhle Photo Matt Fibre Duo, 210 GSM. This is the warmest paper I'm aware of .... and it's very inexpensive. I'm not sure about its nominal "archival" characteristics because Hahnemuhle makes no claims about that, unlike its other papers. I think you'll have to shop around to find vendors with reliable fine inkjet paper/pigment inventory, but B:&H may be a good place to start.

Google for Red River paper.

Google for Red River paper.

I am something of a fan of their softgloss rag. Problem is, Canson’s Platine Fibre is just *that* much nicer at not much more of a cost.

If I recall the Aurora Art correctly, it is a very nice paper, but more expensive than Canon’s Art Smooth, which I love. More texture with the Aurora, I believe.

I've enjoyed Canon (printer company) various papers but I think Red River is heavier (which I like) . I started dealing with Red River partially because Canon's order system became weird and because B&H didn't have good records of Canon inkjet pigments (the guy I've dealt with at Red River happens to know a lot about printing and papers, he's more than an order-taker.

I'd love to try RR paper, but the cost of shipping to Canada is too high for just a sample pack or box of 25.
That said, I have zero issues with Canson Baryta, it remains my favorite paper by far.
I've done away with all other papers in favour of the Canson, it's just a remarkable printing paper, especially paired to the Canon Pro-1000.

I use Red River paper for all my inkjet printing. I use Palo Duro Soft Gloss Rag for color and Palo Duro Etching for black and white. They look great. I think they still sell a 5 sheet sample of the etching to try out.

Dusty Negative was referring to Canson paper, not Canon paper. Two different companies.

I like Canon branded mat paper as well, but I prefer Red River's Aurora. If someone wants high gloss I suspect Canon is the ultimate high gloss, but I don't need that.

I've never used Canson brand.

I use a Canon Pro-10 and Canon pigment.

Several companies market excellent baryta papers (if you want that faintly textured semi-gloss contrasty look...for that I occasionally use Gold Fibre Silk, marketed with both "Simply Elegant" brand and "Ilford" brand.

Cost and delivery issues with Canada post are unique to that country.
