I think this is a great, but apparently under used, topic. It helps me identify and find film users for my site. But over 50% of the links are broken. The last post is 2013? Really? Did everyone really go over to DPUG? That would be a sad state of affairs if it were actually true. If anyone is aware of some great film, alternative process or Polaroid, (Instax, Impossible), photographers, I would appreciate a heads up. Thanks guys. (and gals) anatomyfilms.com

I doubt many film photographers shoot enough to feed the expectations implied by blogs. Film or digital (or anything else), the vast majority of blogs die quickly.

HOWEVER, use of blog format instead of website can make a lot of sense, especially if the photographer has something to say in writing. IMO.

I have a huge amount of sites at WordPress, but they are all mixed content. I had made one just on film but looks like I've hit my limit at WordPress as it wont launch. I wrote to them to see what happened, but no reply as yet.

Yes, many don't stick with it. You need PROJECTS to keep going at it.

That PROJECTS angle makes a lot of sense. When you're just rattling along, sometimes posting something, sometimes expressing an idea or sharing an experience, that "sometimes" piece is probably the killer.

Very good buddy, 75 like me, leading a fabulously exciting life in SE Asia and the Sub Continent, has had a lot online over the years in various formats. His blog wasn't as interesting as that of his son, even tho both are photographers....I suspect the reason is that his son's writing is concise and his writing is "prolix" ...windy, hard to read if you're not into his economic/political/anthropological way of thinking. My friend's interest, beyond photo, is mostly sharing high level professional essays along with a lot of photo. His son's interest is scattered, partially because he's leading a life that's 30 year's younger than his dad.

Mine is in infancy, but here it is.I am focusing on analog/hybrid experiments and DIY, as well as 1800s historical blogs etc.

also, my favorite photo podcasts are "the messy truth" and magichourpodcast.org. not entirely film based but there are definitely a lot of film discussions on there!
