Enjoyed initial viewing and shall give it more time later. Have bookmarked it for frequent viewing. A nice site, Les.

Very nice Les. I found it easy to get around and it has lots of good information.

*Excellent* site, Les.

I just read your article dealing with Pre-Flashing for contrast control in black and white printing. I have been using a similar procedure for decreasing contrast in color printing (being careful to address color balance).

Well done Les and I have no more caustic comments
Congrats on getting it completed, it is a very well done site.

Regards,
Bill

Les your site is very professional, well laid out and creates interest more interest to return again and again not just by viewing your gallery but also your articles.

IMO I'd prefer to see a bigger seperation between the grey background and the grey box, but that's the beauty of everyone here being an artist - we do it our own way.

I'm afraid I have to be boring and agree with the majority - It's a great website, Les!

The colour scheme is restrained and classy, I like the way that frames have been avoided and especially the duplication of the menu at the bottom of the long pages (most useful!).

Your bio is always a good read. I swear you're the only chap I know that ran away from a rock and roll band to become an accountant!

The point about the gallery navigation has been made. The Iron Maiden shots are stunning BTW!

Typo on the "About Les" page - "De Montford University Leicester" is "De Montfort University Leicester" (I wouldn't have picked up on it except that it used to be Leicester Poly (before it went posh) where I attended!)

One thing I thought I'd try was printing out your sales page with the prices and details (I'm an IT test manager - we're born awkward!). As is often the case, the right hand side of the text cut off on the printer. The Print Dry Down article (much more likely to be printed and equipped with a Print This Page control) was fine. Probably not worth remedying.

I'll also be dropping you a line about the example prints, but I'm up to my eyes at the moment so it'll probably have to wait until after the UK Gathering.

Once again, a really nice site.

All the best,

Frank

Hey Les - clean neat and professional looking - and your standard list of articles to print by (mandatory in my darkroom) - all this confirming that - sometimes - less is more.

forgive the pun

I found it very straightforward to navigate. It seemed pretty clear to me from the context if nothing else that you had given the masterclasses. The dates seemed fine to me. Is the comment about "screwy dates" the result of the U.S. expressiing dates in the month day year order rather than the day, month year order in the U.K. and Europe?

If that was the point then maybe any dates especially those pertaining to U.S. classes might have an NB explaining the difference in European notation to avoid confusion in the U.S.

If I may say so, I'd be inclined to link your Creative Black and White Photography book to a short review of it. Apart from Lee Frost's much more elementary book in some ways on B&W which was written very recently, yours is the most valuable up to date book I have come across. Such a book is a valuable find in an era when the newcomer expects only to find books which are many years old. People need to be told more about it and then hopefully buy it.

Everything was pitched right for me.
