I have read that in Platinum toning of Kallitypes you use sodium citrate or citric acid. Are these the same chemicals?

Christopher James book says Sodium Citrate where Sandy King says to use Citric Acid.

Thus which should I use?

They are not the same chemicals. Sodium citrate is a salt and citric acid is an organic acid. They both will work in this case. My preference is citric acid primarily because Pt and the other iron based processes are primarily acidic processes and I keep more of it on hand.
