Hi Everyone
I'm just putting out feelers to see if anybody's interested in some plate holder swapping. I have a suitcase full of different plates, and am Interested in getting more holders for my linhof technika II (the kodak recomar style holders). I'll upload pictures tomorrow, But I can already say that I have holders to fit voigtländer cameras, the zeiss/ica maximar and ideal, and possibly a few others. I also have a 6x9 rollfilm holder that will fit 9x12 voigtländer, Ihagee and probably quite a few other plate cameras.
Kind Regards
Mads

Ok so I finally got to take pictures of the different plate holders I have. As it turns out. There are 8 different types of holders!
I have two holders that should fit a zeiss/ica maximar but I'm keeping them since they also fit my voigtländer avus. Interestingly enough they don't fit my linhof technika II (they wiggle too much) although they are almost identical to the recomar holders that I'm looking for (the recomar holders also fit the avus).

Except for the Zeiss/ica ideal holders I have no idea which cameras these holders might fit.
None of them come with film sheaths by the way.
I don't know the correct term for the thin part at the edge of the holders so I've choosen to call it "groove", even though the term might not be correct.

First of are three holders with the following dimensions (these seem identical to the holders Ian Grant says will fit a rodenstock and orian plate camera) :

Length: 139mm
width: 100mm
locating lip: 2mm
"groove": 2mm

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhartmann/4124241753/

Then there are elleven holders without any locating lip. These holders seem Identical to the holders Ian Grant says will fit early linhof cameras except, they don't at all fit my linhof Technika II.

Length: 140mm
width: 100mm

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhartmann/4125011676/

Then there are five holders with the following specifications:

Length: 139mm
Width: 99mm
Locating lip: 18mm
"groove": 2mm

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhartmann/4124241985/

Then there are four holders with the following dimensions:

Length: 143mm
Width: 100mm
Locating lip: 15mm
"groove": 4mm

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhartmann/4125013292/

Then there are five holders with the following dimensions:

Length: 139mm
width: 100mm
Locating lip: 4mm
"Groove": 1mm

/Users/madshartmann/Desktop/plate holders/small/_MG_4104.jpg

Then there are two holders with the following dimensions:

Length: 150mm
Width: 100mm
Locating lip: 9mm
"groove": 2mm

/Users/madshartmann/Desktop/plate holders/small/_MG_4103.jpg

Then there are five holders with the following dimensions:

Length: 141mm
Width: 99mm
Locating lip: 15mm
"Groove": 2mm

/Users/madshartmann/Desktop/plate holders/small/_MG_4102.jpg

Last but not least I have a total of fourteen holders that will fit the Zeiss/Ica ideal (and the Juwel but that is a very very rare camera). (eight of them are good four are usable and the last too are very very rusty) These are currently spoken for but I'll show a picture of one anyway.

And here is a picture of the Kodak recomar holders I'm looking for.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhartmann/4124265647/

I know that supposedly zeiss 665/7 holders should be more or less Identical to the recomar holders, but since I already have two holders that are almost Identical to the recomar ones that doesn't fit my linhof Technika II, at the moment I'm only interested in recomar holders until I have positive confirmation that zeiss 665/7 holders have the exact same dimensions.

Kind Regards

I don't have anything to trade but I'd love to buy so I can start shooting a couple plate cameras I have in the closet for years because I have no idea how to do plates.

I have a Maximar I'd love to get a 120 roll film holer on. I also have an old format Seroco I'd love to shoot that needs to be adapted to use sheet film.

I'd apreciate any help to get me a new addiction?

Paul, I have a 6x9 back (for a 9x12) to sell or trade, it's the one on the right of the pair in (there was a url link here which no longer exists).

It has flat sides and a lip at the bottom, it fit's these definitely fit early Linhof's, also (there was a url link here which no longer exists), flat sides & end, not sure what they fit . There are 2 or 3 others I'll get all my camera's etc out on Tuesday see what's surplus.

Ian I'm sceptical as to whether your 4 holders will fit my technika II. Do you have a technika II yourself that these holders fit? The reason for my scepticism is that the 11 holders I have are practically identical and they don't fit my technika, meaning that I can get them to fit the camera, but they wiggle way to much. I cannot see that my camera has been modified in any way, it looks identical to the camera in the technika II manual on camera eccentric's site.
Are you sure they are not plaubel holders (to fit the fifties universal, peco junior series etc.)? The reason I'm asking is that I have a plaubel Universal 13x18, and the holders are identical (although bigger of course). Then again, I know that my 13x18 holders fit the 13x18 technika II, so according to that reasoning your holders fit my camera ... I don't know it's kind of confusing right?
The only Thing I know for sure is that the recomar holders are a perfect fit for my technika II.

Paul. Unfortunately I don't have any holders that will fit your maximar camera (well I have two, but I'm using them myself). Do you have any holders for your seroco camera? It's almost impossible to figure out which holders will fit your camera without a known example that fits. I'm afraid anything else will be hit and miss.
Kind Regards

You're probably right Mads. Just corrected the previous post, the Roll film back was sold to fit the early Linhof's, it was offered for sale along with one when I bopught it. The film holders are about a cm shorter, perhaps they do fit a Plaubel.

It's the lack of a standard that makes it difficult getting the right holders.

The holder for the Seroco are wood with a glass plate in it. They are old n rickety. Someone told me I'd have to cut sheet film down to fit and make some sort of adapter for it. I'll see if I can get a pic later.

The Maximar is the camera I'd really like to get going because I hear there are roll film backs for em. If anyone has, I'd like to buy one (local US please). I don't like shopping flea-bay, I'd rather one of you guys instead cuz I know it'll be the right one n work properly as well.

What's the native format of your maximar. 6x9 or 9x12? I have a 6x9 maximar, that I use with both single sheet holders and a roll film back with 6x6 and 6x9 inserts. It's a wonderful tool.
