Nice,
I also use often an Agfa Clack that I rebuild into a pinhole camera. Nice 6x9 format on roll film with a bit curved film plane.
and easy to rebuild.

Yes sir, it's on my "Do List" -- errr -- iPhone calendar! :D

After a recent thread on safelights, I have purchased a couple of small red LED bulbs from SuperBright that I want to test with Fuji HR-T X-ray film to see if I can keep the film safe but see better in the darkroom. I hope to do that in the next week or two so I'm ready for the big day.

This year WPPD doesn't conflict with other things on my schedule, so I may be able to travel a bit in a quest for something interesting. Although since I only own five 8x10 holders and no changing bag, I can't exactly "shoot all day" unless I return to the home base a time or two. (Or also take my 4x5!)

hmmm, decisions decisions.
Early last year I scored a roll of Electronic Output Ektachrome, 9.5" wide, that I haven't even tried to see if it's ok.
Something's telling me to try it and if it's ok, put it in my pinhole suitcase and make a 9.5" x 20" or something chrome pano...

Use two large gray plastic backs - if necessary under a thick blanket in the back of your car.

I was thinking how much that is! Each holder has two sheets of film, is that right? So Dave can carry 10 shots. On WPPD, I won't make more than 4 large paper negatives, and that's with a stop at home to change out the two cameras! Even though I can easily change my 5x7 cans in a changing bag, I have several of them so I'm sure I'll change those at home at the same time. But in a way that's part of the fun: WPPD has two parts, one in the morning then home for lunch, then another round in the afternoon at a different location!

This year for sure one will be something "stone", but it will be a rush to get it developed and posted for MSA.

That's it! Two years ago I went wandering -- and I only had two film holders* for four shots -- figuring I would stop at the house and develop the results, then go to another site in the opposite direction. I actually ran paper negatives in the 8x10 and brought the 4x5 pinhole with a handful of holders loaded with film. By the time I got back to the house, the weather was turning a bit sour, and when I saw all four 8x10 shots had images, I said "OK, that's it!"

And yes, last year I was pressed for time so I took two each, bracketed exposures, of five variations in perspective of an old RR bridge using X-ray film and was actually fairly pleased with the result. So based on ten exposures I'm inclined to say "that's enough" and try to emphasize quality versus quantity. Last year I did another round of tries in late July and early August that were also encouraging. I won't claim expert status, but gained a little confidence. One of my WPPD shots and one of the August effort are currently part of a show on the "Schuylkill River and its Canals" at a history museum in Reading -- that still boggles what's left of my mind! Although I admit, 8x10 pinhole shots contact printed won't compete with a 6-element lens, they are pretty doggone amazing for not using a lens at all.

I should probably try again with at least a couple of paper negatives this year. That's a process that still hasn't quite clicked for me, yet seeing some of the stuff Joe VanCleave posts, there's obviously a way to do it!

* The cost of 8x10 filmholders does not encourage acquiring a trunk full!!!

I think I'd feel spoiled with just two film holders to make 4 shots. But I also enjoy the "finality" of going out with a single shot loaded camera, or several of them!

8x10 pinhole images really are amazing, I still get a bit wide-eyed when I develop them and see the detail. All this talk is getting me fired up for WPPD. If I have time I might construct a new contraption this year... we'll see!
