So I've just finished reading Way Beyond Monochrome, and the things that blew me away most by a long shot were not split grade printing, but the results demonstrated from using unsharp, SCIM, fog and highlight masks. Pin registering small (120) film with masks using actual pushpins and foam ore would be straightforward, but my big concern would be how to register a glass carrier in an off-the-shelf MF enlarger so that multiple, mask on, mask off carrier insertions would be perfectly repeatable. Anyone done this with common enlarger brands? Your advice/insight would be appreciated.

Doubt you can do it with a Fujimoto. You need something that is very rigid.
For Pin Registration, consider Alistair Inglis' products: Dead Link Removed
Not cheap, but superb quality.

Thanks folks. Looking at Lynn Radeka's system, a cleared piece of 4x5 sheet film will fit in the negative carrier of the Fujimoto, so taping the original negative to the sheet film then registering the surrounding sheet film instead of the negative is an option. I'm considering whether it would be possible to add registration pins to the carrier itself with some careful drill and solder work.
