Pictures (1981) is a fictionalized biography on pioneer New Zealand photographers, the Burton Brothers, who traveled around the country taking pictures of colonial life in the 1860s and 1870s. The film stunningly recreates the period, while unsettling some long accepted founding myths of our nation.
