Ok, Simon, here is the answer to your challenge. I hope you like it.

This image was taken on Ilford HP5, in 1981, using a Yashica Mat 124G. Sorry, no clue what developer I used. The location is the Nakdong River, in South Korea.

that stir the imagination, tones and textures that leave the viewer free to interpret
the shades and shadows with his or her imagination and is an artistic and real emotion of a moment in time....

Hi, nice photo Robert! South Korea? Were you in the services at the time? I am always envious of the photographs of those who served in Vietnam and South Korea (I'm not so envious of what they had to go through while there). The landscapes are so beautiful.


OT, Simon, I was chatting photography with my father, he is 68, the other day, and he was saying that Ilford used to make colour film (I think he said it was a slide film, Ilford colour "D" ), is he right or does he remember incorrectly?

There are still Ilfochrome slides in my collection.
Problem is there are less and less of us around who remember names like ICI ammo for my BSA accompanying my P14 driven to Bisley in my Rootes. Ok -enough

1. Roteague... WOW!!! that is a hard print

2. Simon Ilford developed Ilfochrome/Cibachrome and I believe they also tried to develop a c41 comepetitor.
Cibachrome/Ilfochrome produced the MOST beautiful color prints I have yet seen.
The reds were firey !!!
And the processing was not that bad.

Ilfors had color film as recent as 1997 (ilford Colors). Never found it in my neighborhood so never tried it.

Thanks Andy, yes I was in the services at the time, but not during the war (I'm not old enough for that). I was there from 1973 to 1975, and again from 1981 to 1983. I was in West Germany from 1979 to 1981. I was a big Ilford user back in those days, mostly HP5, FP4, and some XP1. I'm pretty sure I used an Ilford developer, but don't remember which one. I was mainly printing on Agfa paper in those days. I used either a Nikon F3 or a Yashica Mat 124G. I won some awards at the US Army Europe Photography contest on Ilford HP5 (the negatives have long been lost, however) in 1980. The US Army used to maintain darkrooms for us to use on our off time, but we had to supply our own film and papers. This image brings back a lot of memories.
