I am sure some people will buy and enjoy that product. For me, the missing feature is a larger sensor. Of course that won't matter if the only thing you do with your images is post them on social media, for whom this product is the target audience.
"it connects to the phone via high frequency sound"
It seemed neat but of all ways to try and communicate with the phone that seems more convoluted than bluetooth or a plug.
It's neat but some phones don't expose all camera features for third party apps so what would be the benefit of that vs just using the stock camera app and a control that works with it?
Or going with a cage and some moment lenses for video or some of the other grip and mount options?
I've seen some amazing phone work for photos and video so I can't criticize that aspect. I mostly use mine for night and widefield astro photos since it has star tracking and I don't have a tracking mount for my tripod so it's my best option.
Yep...this appears to be one way of enhancing phone photography and phone videos in important ways eg easy focus and framing and color...but limited...to what we see on Photrio and presumably Flicker.
