Next time my daughter wants to play I'll just hit refresh and ignore her until she goes away...darn real life stuff intruding on my APUG time

Figures. I go to the darkroom for a few hours and come back to find this... As usual, too late...

JD,

I agree that thread turned bizarre - for a number of reasons. But I certainly agree that anyone who would "prefer" a website image, or even a printed book repro over an original print is playing in a very different league than what APUG is all about.

I'm late to the party - but I'd love a print.

I would love a print... Being able to hold in ones hand the work of another artist is the only way to grow as an artist ones self. The road to greatness in photography is paved with the viewing of other photographers work. Viewing a detached image on a screen is nice, but not really indicative of what a true "artist" can do in the darkroom. Even the smell of the print can influence the viewer.

well i'll take the down load as the whole premise of giving away only 10 real prints changes the scenario for anyone who missed out buts wants to see the image

You're right Ray, however I would encourage those who missed the boat on the prints to vote the way they would wish, until the poll closes tomorrow.

I'd love a print. Of course I was printing out my postcards for the exchange all afternoon and missed this wonderful offer...

I know the ten are gone, but I voted anyway.

#64 or something but a contact print any day. Could be a blank sheet of paper but still prefer that from a download or an extended CD!
Should read Jason on an extendend CD.

I voted for a print too. I just didn't see this post until this morning.

Damn I was too busy with the postcard exchange the last two days ...

Hehehe, and if I would have the chance, I would like to see both, just to make sure, that it is always nicer to have the real thing in hand.

I guess if I wanted a "download", I wouldn't be shooting analog in 35mm, 120 Rollei, 4x5 Calumet or 8x10 Agfa Ansco would I?

I'd be on a digital forum somewhere and I'd have missed this thread completely ...

cheers eh?

yeh, so isn't this thread totally pointless

the people who come to this site will only want a print, that's why they come to this site, that's why this thread is pointless on this site

there are many on this site who childishly won't even type the word digital

I think it's in fun as much as anything, but not writing out the word also serves to keep search engines from bringing folks here who would be trolls.

You seem to be surprisingly bitter. Is that true, or am I misinterpreting your posts?

I see the poll is closed. Darn - I was going to vote for the URL, just to see whether there was a special, mystery prize behind door 2 .

But I would compromise and accept the print instead:wink:

g'day John

not bitter

i like to give a contrary opinion and or make posters think about the alternatives to the popular/current/fade/easy view

no, not bitter, more surprised that on an international site with over 20,000 members very few express an opinion other than the expected/nice/safe

hey Art, why did you delete that post?

Ray

Havin some fun here Ray, but thanks anyway for the shower.

Dang... I was away for the weekend and missed this entirely. Anyway, I'll still vote for a print.
