Fáilte go dtí Photrio agus conas atá tú?

I am based in Sligo and am a retired professional photographer and minilab/photoshop owner.

Spent many years in BAC; often return and often regret having left. There are others posting here who are based in Ireland; I'm sure they'll surface when they see this thread. Where are you studying?

Demographics: I'm from and living in Co. Tipperary, aged in my mid-30s, unemployed and Autistic.

After drifting away from photography for over a decade, I returned to amateur film photography as a hobby in 2020, which is when I started developing my own film for the first time. In the past I have used 8mm movie film as well as 35mm colour still film, but these days I am mainly into black-and-white still photography. For a while I wanted to focus on subminiature photography and black-and-white reversal (for projection as slides) but these are not the most practical approaches so I have relented and reverted to the full-frame 35mm negative format for the most part.

I am very much interested in learning about the technology and the process of making photographs, so it's about the medium for me at least as much as the subjects, which mainly tend to be inanimate objects and still life, buildings, places etc. I am not very interested in photographing people.

Cork. Last year I got back to analogue photography, developed my first film, first darkroom print out, first wet colodion, first large format. Plenty of firsts...
Now I'm into silver gelatin emulsion (well just preparing to start) as wet colodion is a bit too tide to the darkroom.
I have a plan to make my glass plates and then maybe one day my own films (specially formats not available today - for old kodak cameras)

Southwest Co. Antrim here. Basically still enjoying all-round black & white with a couple of Leicas; and printing a little.

Very out of date - I can't get used to Film photography being referred to as Analogue.

Galway. Doing mainly film-based stereo: medium format, Realist and ViewMaster. Process the Provia film myself, currently with Bellini kit (previously Tetenal E6 kit when it was available). Also do a bit of digital stereo (twin nX1000) and of course regular digital using Fujifilm (XT-30/prime 35mm lens).
