Photrio "Member Gear" area has launched!

Hi All,

The new area has launched and can be found in our menu bar:

This new area allows members to document and share their gear, accessories, consumables etc. Simply visit the page and click the "Add gear" button near the top right:

It also has a review component and it ties in nicely to our member profiles.

Notice the new "My gear" link in the profile card.

I think this could be useful for those who might admire someone's work and are curious as to what gear they are using. A members profile page will now incorporate their gear library:

It can also serve other purposes such as sharing your personal antique camera collection, a place to post reviews of equipment, consumables and more. We are interested to see how the community makes use of it.

We are also interested in any suggestions. Would you like to see additional fields or such (product page, serial number, etc)? For now consider it somewhat in "beta" mode.

One tip: You may want to stick to single uploads for major equipment. If you have a large set of accessories, 20 filters, 15 lenses, a full darkroom, etc you might want to for example, upload a few photos of your darkroom, then list the contents in the single post.

Is there any way to "Unwatch" the Member Gear feature, or turn off Alerts for that area?

Presetly the Member Gear tab in my Photrio menu bar has a red rectangle with a number, which I suppose is the number of posts there which I have not read. I have no interest in looking at members gear, so I would prefer to avoid seeing the red flag. I know I can use the drop-down menu to "Mark as Read" but I would prefer to not need to do that every time I open Photrio, so I am hoping there is a fix which I can set and forget?

Not 100% sure if this works, but if you go here: https://www.photrio.com/forum/account/preferences
then look for this option and untick it:

Again, not sure if it solves the issue. Worth a try!
