thanks , may I know is the Jobo ATL 1500 is better than the Phototherm SSK-8R? And why?
The dev A is very expensive btw, but I can get an ATL 1500 at half price there is also a ATL 2200 on eBay but I’m not sure about the condition of that one

SSKs are getting pretty old. You might seriously consider something new like this: https://www.catlabs.info/product/deva. I used to run an 8R and have switched to Jobo ATL equipment and lets just say I would not go back.

I like the larger ATLs. I think the Jobo equipment does a better job of maintaining temperature during the process and makes reclaiming all chemical steps a breeze. The Dev.A is only expensive in the short run. A new and fully supported automatic processor is kind of priceless if you're doing volume.

Thanks , that’s a great help!
And how about the Filmomat, I have also heard is great? I will probably go for the Dev A as is easier to install than a ATL 2200. An ATL requires water supply connection. The Dev A is optional

I'm sure the filmomat does a good job but I find the roll capacity to be too low. I think even his newer larger unit can only do 4 at a time. My ATL3 and 2500 can do 10 rolls of 120 in one go or as little as one roll of 120 film in only 170ml of chemistry. That flexibility pays off over time.

Dev.a seems like vaporware at this point. Stick with the SSK , it’s tried and true for a reason. I’ve used most of the Jobo stuff and would not trade my SSK for any of it.

Catlabs is shipping them. They're small batch automatic film processors, so yeah the order to delivery window is quite long...but they're not any more vaporware than the process of finding either a working SSK for a reasonable price or Jobo ATL. You're gonna wait a while, and pay through the nose. With the Dev.A at least you have manufacturer support. I paid for and then waited about 9-10 months for my Jobo ATL 2500 while it was being refurbished.
