I assue you, when I was making silver gelatin prints, I was the opposite...loved burning (dodging, not so much). I would start with an exposure a little on the underexposed side and then would spend 10 or 15 minutes burning the print in. Loved it!

Those of us using alt processes generally are not doing it to save time and hassle!
