How about a real introduction?
I use rangefinders. Film rangefinders. I don't have a digital camera at all. I've owned three, at one time, but sold them all to get a Nikon FE. Never went back to digital. The only digital thing I have is my Minolta Scan Dual III scanner so that I can show off my photos.
I prefer black and white film. Tri-X, TMAX, HP5, Delta 400. I also use color film, but very seldom. I'm interested in cross processing including color in black and white chemicals, black and white in color chemicals, color in E-6 chemicals, and slides in C41. I process all my own black and white film. I want to process my own color and slide film, but I'd rather have an actual processor before I take on that task.
I'm young, only 22 (23 in May) and hope someday to open some kind of a small shop. Barring that, I hope to someday be able to shoot photos in as many of the cities of the world as I can see. I love street photography and believe in the decisive moment. I take a camera with me wherever I go. At the moment I use a Canon P with 35, 50, and 85mm lenses and a Fed-5C with a 50mm. I also occasionally pull out a Meopta Flexaret VI that the slow speeds are crap on and a Canonet for when I'm feeling really lazy. No large format yet for me...and hopefully not for a while. The last thing I need is to get bit by that bug...though being able to do contact prints would be nice and those large format panoramas are very, very pretty... *headdesk*
At the moment I have no money for new equipment other than the darkroom stuff I'm planning to buy. I still have no clue where I'm going to put the enlarger/print dryer when I'm not using it...perhaps it's a good reason to clean out the closet.
I'm here to learn, share, collaborate, and work hard to become a good photographer. I've come to share with others my love of film and the chemical process. I really hope to be able to learn and teach here as well.
