Project Basho is continuously expanding the rage of classes and workshops we offer for photography enthusiasts in the Philadelphia area and beyond. In addition to our beginner, intermediate, printing class, and teenage afterschool program, we now are offering a color photography class as a part of our regular program.
Project Basho is also inviting Kerik Kouklis back to Philadelphia to offer an Intermediate Platinum/Palladium printing and a Gum over Platinum workshop in the spring. In addition to Introduction to Palladium Printing and an introductory Historical Processes, Wet Collodion and Carbon Printing Workshops will be offered in order to provide contemporary photographers with more options and resources for practicing historical processes.
Also, Project Basho's interest is not limited to offering how-to workshops, but extends to the teaching of more elusive issues like aesthetics and developing your vision. We are inviting Diana Hooper Bloomfield to offer "Beyond the Literal", a workshop which will teach tools to make your images more personal and help you to develop your vision further. Also, we are inviting Shelby Lee Adams to offer "Environmental Portraiture" in May.
Fundraising Print Sale
Project Basho has been working on a 5500 sq. ft. warehouse building for the last two years. Its intention is to create a stronghold in Philadelphia to better serve photography enthusiasts in the region and beyond. In order to achieve this end, Project Basho is launching a fundraising print sale to finance the second phase of construction. This phase will add a color darkroom with a 20" processor and a 400 sq. ft. multi-purpose room. There will be a launch party on December 9, form 5 pm where a viewing of Tsuyoshi Ito's platinum/palladium prints and a silent auction for students and other contributors prints will be held.
Registration is on a first come first serve basis and can be done via our online Registration Form. For more information and update, please feel contact us or visit our website.
