PHOTOGRAPHY by Phil Davis, college text book.
This is a college photography course in a book. Written by Prof. Davis from University of Michigan. He is also the author of "Beyond the Zone System" and several classic photography instructional books. This is the FIFTH Edition of the book. Publishers don't republish a book so many times if it isn't a good book. Prof. Davis is well respected in photography education circles and the book has a review board of 12 college photography instructors who advised Davis on the best way to explain the photographic concepts. It is very thorough and accurate. It covers every aspect of photography in its 22 chapters. In other words it is an excellent instructional book. A valuable resource to the newbie as well as experienced photographers, especially those who do B/W and color darkroom work.
This isn't intended to accompany a "light weight" photography courses. It is intended for serious students.
It also includes a 8.5 x 11 inch gray card.
384 pages. 8.5 x 11 plastic GBC (spiral) bound. Great for hands-on use because it stays open when using it as a reference. Well made book on quality paper. It weighs almost 3 pounds.
