Photographing protests? Safety advice/what to do?

Have a friend act as a pocket or a runner. When you finish a roll, drop your film to the runner and go to your next roll. The runner simply takes your film to a car or other location. If something does happen to get you in trouble, and you have a bunch of rolls in your pocket, police will take them all and you lose everything.

Kosovo just plead their independecy from Serbia a week or so ago. The Serbs are not quite happy about that. Of cource they turned to worldprügelknabe #1 and torched an US embassy.

Police here have a two person crew of police that specifically shoot video footage of the likely suspect protesters that will 'cross the line'

That's scary but doesn't surprise me at all...
