I'm planning on going up to Watertown on Sunday morning and was wondering what my chances would be of finding negative carriers (for MF on a Beseler 23cIII), a slide projector, and a dry mount press. I'm hoping to find them 'cause I don't want to buy on e-bay and have to pay shipping (that'd be a lot on those last 2 items). I'm also probably going to find all sorts of things I'm not looking for, but decide I have to have.
I'm also hoping to meet anyone from here who's there when I am.

I have been to the show the last few years. Usually there are at least a few booths that sell used darkroom stuff. You will also find many tables that sell mixtures of cameras and darkroom equipment.

I have been finding a few Kodak Carousel projectors thrown out at my local dump. There is an area set aside for re-cycling good equipment etc.

A few months ago, I got a nice Carousel 650H with table, screen and about 10 carousel reels. In the reels were a family's vacation photos. I don't understand someone tossing out something like that...kinda sad...

I also have a kodak Kodaslide Highlux III slide projector that feeds one slide at a time. It was given to me and works fine. You can have it if it's what you were looking for. Manual and case are included. I will be there both Saturday and Sunday. PM me if you are interested in the projector.

Hope to see you there,

Stop! Wait! What happened to those slides? I hope you dind't toss em out as did the last owner. We collect stuff like that - we have the lives of dozens of families on slide. I's great to share holiday pics with people you don't know. We've been everywhere anytime with these slides. It's wonderful.
So, if you still have them, consider sending them to us, would you, plz?

Good Morning, Bethe,

I wouldn't give up on E-Bay when it comes to the slide projector; they have recently been near give-away items there. A year or so ago, I purchased TWO Carousels for less than $7.00. Even though the shipping costs exceeded the items' price, my total outlay was under $25.00. I was hoping that I'd end up with one complete, functional unit by combining the two, but when they arrived, they BOTH worked. All I needed to do was put a new bulb in one of them. (A dry mount press, I agree, would be a different story.)

Norm I sent you a PM on this. A lot were dumped on the ground were I found them. I took the then empty Carousel Reels. I saved maybe 7 boxes. You can have all I have left.

I'll be manning a table at the show both Sat. and Sun. I'll have an APUG sign on it - so it won't be hard to find me (how hard is it to find a 300 lb guy with a big white beard anyway?)

As for specific items you desire... stop in and tell me after you look around. The guy who owns most of the stuff I'll be selling has three large room FILLED with stuff - some old large format, lots of folders (boy does he have folders,) projectors, lenses, boxes of whatever included, He is one of the nicest, most honest people you could ever want to do business with. He won't be there but has given me the nod to get specific requests from folks. He may well have what you want.

Warning - while a wonderful person and a very knowledgeable dealer, Dick is also one of the slowest people in the world at hgetting around to things - requests may take awhile.

I'm a relative procrastinator myself, so slow isn't necessarily an issue. I don't know what I'll be wearing, but I'm sorta-thin and have long blonde hair. Since I plan to go to the Roger Williams zoo at 9am Sat, then spend the evening in my darkroom, I'll also probably be the one with the coffee IV attached (if that's allowed). If not allowed, I'll be the one with half-closed eyes, but a slight smile on her face from the remembered scent of chemicals.
Can't wait to see what I can find!

See you all this weekend. I live just a few minutes away, so I may go both days, to get the early bird deals on Saturday and the I-don't-want-to-haul-this-home-again deals on Sunday. They still are doing one admission for both days, right?

Pete, they have in the past. I am not sure this time.

I work nights and will be there both days when I get out of work at 7:00AM, tired but happy. See you there.
