When viewing prints I sometimes like referring to them as being ( flat as piss on a plate)

A work collegue once referred to something as being bone flat.

I like to mix up sayings too. I use as black as a pancake and as flat as the ace of spades,

Steve.

I always liked the name "Group f/64."

Most of the time I think about it when my work is coming out contrary to the ideals, and I worry about having my membership card revoked.

I like words that are precise, concise, and represent something that somebody with a hint of knowledge actually can understand. Sometimes when I try to help beginners come to terms with film, developer, and darkroom printing as a system, I find it exceedingly difficult to explain it to them clearly so that they actually understand AND remember.
Those terms that help me explain in an effective way are much appreciated.

Word of the day: "Autochrome Lumière"

"Autochrome Lumière"
One of the first real (commercial) colour photography processes (1903), using potatoes.
See : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autochrome_Lumière #note: link repaired#

I like the sound of this name, but also the prints made with this process. I wish it was still available.
Gum printing comes close, but isn't the same.

Here are some examples, about 100 years old!!
