As some of you may know I've developed a 1941 roll of film with images, full story here:
http://photo-utopia.blogspot.com/
2 weeks ago I developed a short 6" length and got 5 images, last night using a different developer I got another 12-15 images, and they are clearer:

Some have writing on banners

These seem to suggest that the event was in a Naval club?
Also it says 'Camden Post office club' on the smaller banner underneath.
I would like as much input as possible about the images, I may have found one individual, but I'm waiting for confirmation from a local historian.

Note the stepped fashion the tables, and other interesting features, could this be a theatre?
Anyone know Camden NJ?
Thanks
Mark

The festivities remind me of some family pictures of mine showing wedding receptions held in restaurant meeting/dining rooms of that era.

The game is afoot!

Mark,

I just tried a Google search and turn up the following PDF at this url

Camden american legion

Check out the last page, final entry! Note that the legion offices are called posts. You may want to follow up with the American Legion and point them to your website.

The pdf was on the Camden Historical Society website which also may be somewhere to follow up on since Camden is across the river from Philadelphia.

Thanks darr
I'm not sure I have any special skills, certainly not compared to a few others on this site.
Its a shame about Camden if what you say is true, I guess that's how this film ended up in Reading PA, although one can only guess why the photographer never developed the film.
The thing is that most of the people in these pictures have probably passed on, the film is 66 years out of date!
Possibly the young woman in the images might be alive though she'd be 85+ and in some of the frames there are children, now probably 75.
As for tracing people.
Here is an interesting photo:

now compare that to this guy:

Similar?
I'm digging..

Second and last roll

The second roll isn't shot in a Theatre, but is quite lovely:

and in the back yard:

I'd love any ideas to there origin, and have posted several local history sites in the Camden NJ area and also the area the film was found Reading PA.
