i Love the work of the Westons(Edward and Brett)
i know that its one of a kind, but could you guys show me people who make things similar to them?
mostly the "abstract"-natural form is the theme that i would be interested in.but anything similar to them is more than welcome:smile:
Thanks Everyone!

Some of John Scarlata's early work, from the 1970s. Might be hard to find it online though.

I can't think of, nor have I ever seen work by a photographer/printer that even comes close to the mastery held by Brett Weston. All I can say is . . . Best of luck in the search.

To me Bret's work is very different from Edward's. Bret's is more modern in style. More neutral in color and higher contrast. To me EW is more about immersing your life and yourself in your art while BW is more about enjoying the pleasures of being an artist and photographer. It is hard to think of anyone who's work resembles their entire bodies of work.

The DVD "The Roots of California Photography" includes many of those influenced by or with the Weston's. One of my favorites of the lesser knowns is Richard Garrod [see his "Visual Metaphors"].
Merg Ross is another who seems influenced by Brett.

Merg Ross is a member here on APUG, and IIRC has posted on interesting history involving, among others, the Westons.

I'd suggest reading through his posts.
