The places like B&H can negotiate volume discounts that allow them to sell at lower prices. I worked in the appliance industry for decades, as a manufacturer that used 100's of million pounds of plastics a year, with price and volume targeted rebates there were certain resins that we paid half of what our converters could buy it for.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a shop open for processing and printing in the area served by Photo Pro. There's a market for high quality color prints.

You mention "here" is this here in Berlin only?

Yes, that was referring to Berlin only. There have been several other new openings in other German cities as well. For example lab equipment manufacturer JOBO has also started with their own lab 'JOBO artisan'. Fotoimpex has plans to increase their lab service by adding two further dip-and-dunk processors, new scanning and printing options in the mid-term.
Important to know:
The lab infrastructure in Germany has remained very good and on a very high-level even in the "digital-boom" time. Even five big mass-volume labs have been operating without interruption. They are serving photo/camera shops and especially the drugstore chains shops, which all offer film, film processing (C41, E6, BW) and silver-halide prints. So in fact you can give your film for processing and prints at more than 3000 local stores in Germany.
Getting lab services has never been a problem at all for film photographers in Germany.

Thanks for your reply. I notice that it was my comment in relation to it being worrying that if we have a revival of film as and let's name him, Henning Serger, suggests very strongly is the case that there are still stories of shops closing that seems to have prompted you to get involved in matters that in the past was the territory covered by Henning

Out of curiosity can I ask what made the TEAM ADOX reply and is it your intention to report to us on the kind of matters that only Henning seemed to report on in the past? I had thought that you were only connected to ADOX matters. I am not suggesting for a moment that you should not reply on the state and health of the analogue matters beyond the ADOX business if this is part of your chosen remit now

Is the ADOX team the public relations part of ADOX which is owned or is it by Mirko Boeddecker? A search on Google reports Mirko as being the Chief Executive Officer so he may be an executive only and not the owner but he seemed for a long time to be the spokesperson for ADOX

I hope these questions do not cause you any problems in answering as I simply want to learn about who does what in ADOX

Thanks

Germany is a beautiful place. The Hotel breakfasts are worth the visit alone. I think my surname is from Hessian soldiers who came here to help out King George the 3rd.

We've explained it several times before, but please have a look at our reply in this thread, when the question was asked first (posting No 4):

And nothing has changed so far: Mirko Böddecker is founder and CEO of Fotoimpex and ADOX.

Thanks for the link. So whereas in the past Mirko seemed to be the main or sole correspondent in matters ADOX a team has now taken over or at least will share the burden of Mirko being the sole speaker for ADOX. That's fine.

I suppose that what I suddenly noticed was the team Adox's contribution to a range of matters connected to analogue photography whereas in the past Mirko seemed to confine himself to matters ADOX only

it is almost as if you are now answering questions and adding contributions that was the territory of Henning Serger. This may be just a coincidence and if so presumably we can expect to see both yourselves and Henning making similar posts. You as Team ADOX and him as a separate and independent voice.

Correct.

I suppose that what I suddenly noticed was the team Adox's contribution to a range of matters connected to analogue photography whereas in the past Mirko seemed to confine himself to matters ADOX only.

Not quite correct as Mirko has also several times given information on general market or industry topics. The feedback of photrio members has been over all the years that such info is needed or wanted. Therefore the contribution from ADOX either by Mirko or the team.

This may be just a coincidence ...

It is a coincidence. Nothing new, it has happened in the past and will probably happen in the future as well. As he has such a broad level of knowledge and experience it would be extremely unlikely that there would never be topics here where he and ADOX share both their assessments.
For example: You have ask us here about the market in Germany. The situation is as it is, obvious for all film photographers living here. Facts are facts. So as a consequence you of course get the same description of the local market situation from us and Henning. No surprise.

You as Team ADOX and him as a separate and independent voice.

Of course.
