I think I did the default scanning settings on Nikon coolscan v as negative with the Nikon Scan software. I must have been romanticized by the sunset glow, and quite like it. Thus I did not do the usual white balance.
This is different from my medium format workflow, where I scan as slides first and then do inversion by Negative Labs Pro. Definitely more neutral in my medium format workflow.
if you like it that counts! And its interesting how this film comes out with different work flows. And i also prefer not to edit too much. But due to the purple mask i needed to touch the different color chanels. I never understood, why Harman didn‘t take a yellow/red base instead of this purple one.
They're working towards that. Phoenix I was an unmasked film, II is a partially masked film. One of the later versions will likely be a regularly masked film, including the orange base we normally see on color negative. It's important to realize that the base color and the mask are related, but they're not the same. The orange base color should be understood as the result of how the dye masks look on parts of the film that have received no exposure. This is contrary to how the orange mask is often misunderstood, i.e. as a solid orange color, much like a gel filter. This isn't the case.
