I recently purchased an Canon FD 20mm SSC lens - which has a 72mm filter thread.

As it happens, I have a large set of high-quality 77mm black & white filters - and wish to use these with this lens.

I did a search for lens hoods that would fit a 20mm lens w/ a 77mm filter thread in a 35mm format without vignetting, but nobody seems to sell one in the USA.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a suitable lens hood?

Might be Canon or some other mfr may have one that was original to one of their products?

But I have not come across a Canon bayonet-mount hood for FD-lenses where the elastic padding had not deteriorated. And then the hood will not arrest.

You have been unlucky then, the rubber grommets are easy to dig out and replace with circles of rubber cut out with paper punch, cut in half and glued in with Superglue, or even easier a little black insulating tape stuck on the inside of the hood.

Thank you, good idea with that punched-out rubber.
