Perfectly Clear or Portrait Pro?

Hello,

Sorry if my question is basic or redundant. I'm interesting in starting with one portrait editing program. I'd prefer to have one that could be a PS plugin, so that I could layer mask its effects, fade and adjust opacity. This is because I have always felt that there is almost no situation where 100% of a filer effect is necessary. I am also just trying to do minor editing, not trying to make anyone look like an android. Anyhow, I have seen some pretty cool results from both Perfectly Clear as well as Portrait Pro.

Check out ON1 Photo10. They have a free trial. It is very easy to use and can be a stand alone or used with PhotoShop and/or Lightroom.

I've not used Perfectly Clear but I've had Portrait Pro since version 11. Version 15 is really pretty good. You have to turn down the default edits a bit to stop it looking OTT but I just make my own presets anyway so its not a problem. I think you can use it as a plugin for Lightroom, I use it as a plugin for Photoshop.

If you are into resculpting faces,Portrait Pro is your best bet;Perfectly Clear works well on any photograph;not just portraits.If you are more into make-up-like changes.You are better off learning a few techniques such as the ones Calvin Holly wood shows on his site;They are very flexible and efficient.

if you use PS already,Perfectly Clear is a much better addition than Portrait Pro.
