Hello,

Sorry if my question is basic or redundant. I'm interesting in starting with one portrait editing program. I'd prefer to have one that could be a PS plugin, so that I could layer mask its effects, fade and adjust opacity. This is because I have always felt that there is almost no situation where 100% of a filer effect is necessary. I am also just trying to do minor editing, not trying to make anyone look like an android. Anyhow, I have seen some pretty cool results from both Perfectly Clear as well as Portrait Pro.

Thanks for your thoughts,

Jerry

Check out ON1 Photo10. They have a free trial. It is very easy to use and can be a stand alone or used with PhotoShop and/or Lightroom.

Hey Jerry
I've not used Perfectly Clear but I've had Portrait Pro since version 11. Version 15 is really pretty good. You have to turn down the default edits a bit to stop it looking OTT but I just make my own presets anyway so its not a problem. I think you can use it as a plugin for Lightroom, I use it as a plugin for Photoshop.

If you are into resculpting faces,Portrait Pro is your best bet;Perfectly Clear works well on any photograph;not just portraits. If you are more into make-up-like changes. You are better off learning a few techniques such as the ones Calvin Holly wood shows on his site; They are very flexible and efficient.
