My first non-Instamatic camera was a SP-500. I remember my Dad and I going into Times Camera in Cedar Rapids. Bought a used one. It had the 55 1.8. For a 10 year old kid it was difficult to live with such a slow lens, and the absence of 1000th of a second on the shutter speed dial.

Recently I was exploring the legendary basement of University Camera in Iowa City and found a perfect SP-500 body. With a bit of friendly barter it came home with me. Yesterday I was there and spotted a Super Takumar 50 1.4 sitting behind the counter. Roger, the owner, made me a deal I couldn't refuse. He gave it to me:D This generosity usually will get him a free lunch, out of guilt if nothing else, on my part. I tried to pay him but he just waved me off.

The Super is Yellow. I just wonder, how much this would effect Fujichrome anyone know?

I wish there was microprisms on modern cameras, it's a pain to manually focus without one.

From a Pentax perspective - that started with lifesize magnification viewfinder, not even a microprism will help any modern (AF) camera due to their tiny magnification viewfinders. The small sensor variety have an even tinier magnification.

I assume you are joking here.

Shouldn't have any affect though it may make the color a bit warmer. Expose it to some UV light for awhile and it should start changing back to clear. Theoretically setting it in the sun should be enough but that will take quite a while to work.
